I'm pretty sure I just witnessed the O-Line Committee fire our new starting safety (Rayshawn Jenkins) for taking bad angles and making "business decisions" instead of tackling. Not a good sign!
I love the O-Line Committee videos, but do they reference the same "Office Space" joke ("naga... nagga... nogganna work here anymore") in every single video they make?
Kurt, Kurt, Alex, Allen? Somebody has a bias for Kurts and names with "ale" in them. I can't believe I follow this Chaucer-like pop culture drivel...more like Kenterbury Tales...
Good vids, thanks Ken. Was fun to hear John Madden again on the old Seahawk video also.
Rick Mirer, what a guy. Over a six-game losing streak in 1994, Mirer would exceed a 50% completion rate only once. A broken thumb suffered in Week 13 would see him miss the final three games of the season. The Seahawks would again finish 6-10 (5-8 in Mirer’s starts) after starting 3-1.
In 1995 inconsistency came from Mirer, who would throw only 13 TDs to 20 INTs. Still, Seattle went 7-6 in his starts, finishing 8-8. He was picked number 2 in the draft out of Notre Dame, in the year drafted, right behind Drew Brees, but then it was discovered he couldn't throw to the left.
Dennis Erickson went 31-33 over 4 seasons coaching the Seahawks, 1995-1998. He went 9-23 coaching the 49ers over 2 seasons, 2003, 2004. Maybe you should go back to the Niners Dennis?
Thank you for all this great info! For us Football nuts this kind of info is Heaven sent! Knew of some of it but also because of this great post I know have even more to sink my head into. Thank you!
While we're on the topic of YouTube draft channels, a couple of weeks ago I started recording Seattle's pick 16 in mock drafts which involved a trade down where Seattle trades back to recoup picks in the 2nd and/or 3rd round. I used the footballguys dot com draft pick trade calculator to determine if Seattle improve by trading pick 16. If they didn't improve I didn't bother to record it. I think there's going to be a valuable player available at 16 and a trade back should only occur with improvement in Seattle's draft capital. I also ignored trades involving players and trades involving 2025 picks. My favorite trade down was with Carolina. They have no 1st round pick, but might really want a 1st round player. The trade with them gives Seattle the first pick in round 2 and the first pick in round 3 for pick 16, and the calculator says it improves Seattle draft pick value by 6%. Here are some of the trades I saw...
Green Bay:
Seattle 1-16 for GB 2-41 and 2-58 This is a 2% improvement for Seattle
Seattle 1-16 for GB 1-25 and 3-88 This is a 1% improvement for Seattle
Carolina:
Seattle 1-16 for Car 2-33 and 3-65 This is a 6% improvement for Seattle
New England:
Seattle 1-16 for NE 2-34 and 3-68 This is a 2% improvement for Seattle
Washington:
Seattle 1-16 for Wash 2-36 and 3-67 This is a 1% improvement for Seattle
Philly:
Seattle 1-16 for Phil 2-50 and 2-53 and 5-161 This is a 2% improvement for Seattle

Mich. State is currently beating North Carolina. I can't help but root for Isso. Is that his name? I admire him staying at Mich. State all these years, and his success is just below what Wooden did at UCLA. Just phenomenal coaching.
Quick question related to YouTube. What YouTube channel do you guys think would be worthwhile watching for live coverage podcast of the draft? I can watch the coverage on the NFL network, but I was wondering if anyone had a more Seahawk specific channel that will spend more time discussing Seahawk picks as they get selected and potential targets as the Seahawk picks get closer.
I used to do a live draft reaction with Rob Staton or someone else if he was unavailable and I was amazed at how many people we would get. Sometimes over 1k live viewers and this was now 7-8 years ago or longer. I like talking to Rob about the draft, it’s unfortunate times have changed.
Thanks! I'm beginning to feel good about pick 16. I've seen a few people now say Denver might not be able to move up and Payton may see Bo Nix as his style of QB. Imagine 5 QBs picked in the top 15? I would say no way, but it would be a dream for the Seahawks. Also the first WR last year didn't go until 20. At least 3 WRs should go by pick 15 this year. Given the unlikelihood the Seahawks would reach for a QB or select a WR, pick 16 is almost a top 10 pick relative to the other talent positions if something close to this happens. My next hope is 2 CBs go in the top 15. Sure Alt will be gone, Dallas Turner will be gone, but the value of pick 16 for the Seahawks will be higher than a draft where no QBs or WRs go in the top 15. Also, for potential trade back, this scenario might make pick 16 more attractive and warrant a premium on a trade back.

Great stuff!
Now I have no reason to be/act stupid, except…well….I’m still me.
Channel: Bootleg Football. Its Brett Kollmann alongside E.J. Snyder (who is absolutely brilliant), highly highly recommended, great draft content
Great point. Bootleg is good ahead of the draft for those discussions. For some reason they haven’t been in my algorithm
I'm not sure how I managed it but I don't give Youtube a cent and I don't get the ads.
Amazing!

Does not look good for Michigan State. North Carolina is up by 12 with 4 minutes to go,
There was also that guy at Duke Mike something,
Thanks for the heart and the additional note. That helps!

Love for you to team up with Dan Viens ;)
Dan Viens of Seahawks Forever is doing day 1 live, he's a good watch. I enjoy the Real Hawk Talk crew aswell, they normally cover it.
I've seen Seaside Joe as a guest on his podcast. Thanks. I like Dan's style.
Yes! That was a great episode! No probs 👍
The Hawks Nest is always fun, and a marathon, too.
