But the Seahawks are always in the market for an upgrade at backup QB. The problem is, they need a starter. It's less that I wish the Hawks would sign Kaep, but more that I think he should be playing.

I agree. Maybe he's not a good fit for the Hawks this year, but it's a shame he has been out of the NFL for so long. Whether his failure to make a roster is due to his poor play, his ego, the NFL, or team owners is a question we can only speculate on, and the answer may be all of the above. I hope Kaepernick can be humble as a player, outspoken as an advocate for equality, and get a legitimate shot an NFL roster, if that's really what he wants.

I think it's primarily a overly-simplified-fuzzy-political-ideological connection to the Pacific NW that gets Kap a bit more love in Seattle than other NFL cities, from fans and media alike. We are generally a more liberal audience, and Pete has indicated his supportive stance on NFL race-issues. Nothing to do with football.

Well said. Kap was never a QB that would last. He gets matched with Seattle because Pete has been nice enough to help promote him or, at the very least, talk about him. Name one other coach who has even mentioned his name. I'm Canadian, so stand or kneel that was the way I have always felt. I also always felt that Kap was an athlete but not a franchise QB.
