If he’s got Antonio Brown then he really has questionable thought processes. But yes good to see Kupp there. But that’s a weak top 4.

Kupp is definitely a smart cookie, but it's all on tape, so I'm not sure there is any consequential value there. Maybe some tidbits on certain players that would be useful. Waldren came over from their coaching staff and was a net negative, so I'm not banking on inside intel being the reason we have success (or not) against the Rams. If we start beating them, it will be because we have better players and coaches. As is stands today, they're the conference champions, so even though I hate them, they get the benefit of the doubt until we prove something against them. And not when they are playing backups.

Game 1 against the 49'ers will speak volumes. If they (and we) are mostly healthy, it will be an excellent measuring stick right out of the gate. Can our defense pick up where we left off? Can Kubiak get the offense in sync right from the jump? I guess we'll see. Game 1's are hard to predict. If we thump them it will be hard to contain my optimism for the rest of the season.

I'm really looking forward to Byron Murphy's second season. I think he goes from solid rookie to difference making sophomore. If Chenna is back to form, and D-law is ready to go, then there is no reason to think this defense is anything but ascending......which is fun to think about. McCaffrey should have a hard time picking up run yards. They'll run to Woolen's side of the field often, so hopefully he's ready to tackle. They know better than to run outside to Spoon's side.

At least 2 butt-kicking Vets, who could have gone anywhere, chose here. Such is the alluring fragrance of a Super Bowl.

I wish that game were later in the season, after the Kubiak offense has had a chance to gel.

But, what a way to start the season if we can get a big win at home right off the bat against an NFC West rival. That'd be sweet if we can pull it off.

I currently don't think CK or anybody else can tell Coach MM much that he hasn't already seen a dozen times on video. I'm anxious to read the comments, though, because I might be seriously wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. OK, I'm reading the comments right now. Tell me why I'm an idiot.

I think MM can tell Kubiak much about needed adjustments to his offense. My bet is CK is not a Coach to be overwhelmed.

Sorry, but IF Kupp is REALLY on Ja'Marr Chase's Mount Rushmore of WRs, then the credibility of the list goes away. Mount Rushmore implies "of all time". I thought it was going to be "of recent memory", or something... who is on your Mount Rushmore of WRs? Brown and Kupp just don't belong, except when you issue a pass to Chase because of his age.

I got:

Jerry Rice

Steve Largent

Calvin Johnson

Randy Moss

Just out/2nd mountain:

Marvin Harrison

Art Monk

Terrell Owens

Mike Evans (Cris Carter? Michael Irvin?)

Who you got?

Larry Fitz for sure. Isaac Bruce was annoyingly good. Tim Brown. Marvin Harrison.

All those...but add Larry Fitzgerald somewhere. I think he ended up near the top in several key categories.

Fred Belitnikoff. Jeeze. Had Lamonica here until memory kicked in.

I considered Don Hutson also. He held the TD record before Largent. I think he had 99 or something when Largent hit his 100. But, Hutson played in an era that was even LESS pass crazy than Largent's era (which was well before this current pass-happy era) and his numbers dwarfed other WRs of the time.

He was before my time. I remember seeing black & white highlights of him when I was young... but not many of them.

Ultimately, I left him off. Biletnikof was ridiculous, and would have had crazy numbers in this era, much like Lynn Swann

Terrific football player. Seven straight years of a 20+ yds/reception. We can but dream!

I personally wouldn't put too much stake in the intel gathered. Some might be helpful, stealing communications or being able to interpret and crack coms might serve us well. I doubt there's much Kupp could tell Hawks coaches they don't already know with regard to scheme and play design. Unless Kupp could give insight to play calling and how McVay thinks and how he tries to attack certain match ups - maybe then that might be good Intel? Plus, I might think McVay will adjust any small things that Kupp is keen to. But who knows, maybe this is just what we need to put the rams in their place. FTR!

I would think it would be something like: their starting LCB tips coverage by lining up angled or Ibused to beat so-and-so by looking inside right before I stutter stepped... some small tell that is probably pleyer specific.

I could Def see Kupp giving feedback in that manner...that could be super helpful too.

Any intel is good, but I’m not sure it makes that much difference. Good coaches develop and evolve. They change from season to season to avoid predictability and improve over time. Some things change week to week. Adjustments occur during a game. So intel from previous years is very limited. Especially when there’s coaching changes thrown in.

Yes, intel is good. But what we need more are competent players, a good, adaptable game plan and a great game manager. I think we’ve got at least two of those this season.

If only the Rams would rehire Jeff Fisher. Then THEY would be stuck in 7-9, 9-7 purgatory again like they were in most of his tenure. Ok, with the 17th game it would be 8-9, 9-8.
