My one worry for McCall is Ken has pointed out he is working with a whole new crew. He did have Isaiha Likely last year, whom the Ravens drafted in the 4th round. He must be one he'll of a player for the best tightend evaluators in the NFL to take him. That's not a knock on our soon to be next day two star QB. I feel like the Seahawks will look at McCall as he is the point guard Carroll wants. Read the play and distribute the ball or scamper for the 1st down and slide.

Ok, let's say I've boarded the McCall hype train (which I have) and I'm ready for him to pull into the VMAC. I'm beginning to worry he won't even be available to be drafted by the Hawks. Who of the top QBs would fit the Seahawks scheme best. I can see McCall being a good fit, but if he's not there, what are our best options? I do like Young, but other teams will pick up on McCall and I can easily see him taken by a rival desperate to find a franchise QB.

I’m looking forward to your analysis of Grayson’s 2022 season. It should be fun seeing where and if he is drafted.

From the Seahawks perspective whoever winds up being the QB this season is only going to allow them to be part of the real competition which will enter phase 2 next year. If Grayson McCall is drafted by the Hawks that would be awesome.

Just wondering: Could the Hawks draft 2 QBs in ‘23? Use highest pick for best available, next one for McCall? Dumb idea? Would give better chance of drafting a keeper at cost of missing out on a potential impact player. Comments???

I don't think that's unreasonable at all. I think they got out of drafting QBs with Wilson because they didn't want to use the few picks when they had positions of need, and I think Wilson's 'camp' didn't want that--preferring they'd draft players that would enhance Wilson's skills. So they're going to return to 'competing' in the draft, and that might mean stocking the cupboards with two QB picks.

I could also see them packaging to move up if there's someone there they really really like.

McCall and Jefferson (Arkansas) are guys that might allow the Hawks to draft a bit later and get the accurate passer, game manager they want.

I think Seattle still have to many needs to allow for that luxury, but who knows

News flash: Josh Allen went to Wyoming, Carson Wentz and Trey Lance went to N. Dakota State. Brett Favre went to SO. Mississippi, Ben Roethlisberger went to Kent State.

Meanwhile Haskins, Hurts, Shields, Jones all went to The Ohio State U.

Just saying. Please no Stroudt for the Hawks.

Hurts went to Alabama and Oklahoma

I know what you are saying about The Ohio State QBs. I believe Stroud is real, will he tale to the NFL is usually right coach right time. Didn't Ben go to the University of Miami Ohio ? I have not looked it up but I think I'm right I will check

McCaw!! I’m too jacked up about the 2023 draft and we haven’t even opened camp 2022 yet. Crikey!

There's a long season to play out at the pro level (might have something in Lock), and college. Today's hype doesn't often have a lot of staying power. We'll see. Some guys' stock will rise, others fall. There may be a guy or two no one is talking about yet, much like Kenneth is doing with McCall.

I'm on the western (TN) border of NC but am making my pilgrimage to see Grayson McCall this year. Thinking maybe the App State game Nov 3rd. Any better games you'd consider appreciated.

Nice article, I admit I haven't watched much of the kid yet but he seems exciting. I do have strong reservations though, as I do with every QB in a small program (that included Wentz, Lance, Love, & Allen so take that how you will). Yes nobody else is dominating the Sun Belt the way he is. Yet is this argument really all that relevant? Sure he's playing well against the competition he's facing, but that's true of many players. They are not the same player, but it reminds me a bit of Kellen Moore that way; unbelievably dominant QB who naïve teenage Starhawk thought was going to be the next Brady. While Moore lasted a few years in the league, he's clearly a much better OC than QB. Again, not saying they are the same player, only that it's hard to evaluate even dominant players in these conferences. As we all know, the best college players are usually backups or bums in the NFL, with very few breaking through. I'll definitely watch the tape though before I make a final conclusion.

So in essence, McCall is one of the best rated QBs in the NCAA stat-wise but is downrated due to strength of competition. College football is completely arcane so I have no idea how they work out who plays who at the end of the season, but surely if McCall leads Costal to another great record they must play someone half decent? What is the maximum they can achieve? In any case, I’m all in.

YES! Wonder who they would play tournament wise at end of year. Hopefully more than half decent. Anybody got any ideas who potential conference/schools might be?
