Great info and comments IMHO- I am just so happy to finally see some adequate play on the O-line. Here is hoping they can keep it up and jell even more as this season progresses and into next year, maybe only truly needing one guy! And who knows - Maybe Haynes will pull it together and they only will need quality back ups??? That would be something Seattle hasn't seen in a long, long time!

I think my jersey buying days are likely behind me (unless I were to luck into a used Raible or so forth), but if I could have any active player in the league; it's JSN right now. He's possibly already the best *player* on the team and he's 23 years old. As sad as Lockett's decline makes me, we're seeing a young player step up and be even better than Tyler in his prime. I do think we'll need another complimentary wr, even if we extend DK -which we probably should do.

If the offense keeps growing and the defense can play to the recent level, this is a team nobody wants to draw in the playoffs.

Thanks for the content SSJ. Some I've already watched and some I hadn't stumbled across.

Murphy and Reed are probably the two guys doing an awesome job and getting very little recognition for it because they don't look very good in a box score. But the two iLB's should be buying them dinner every Monday. Murphy is just going to get better and better, which I am greatly looking forward to.

For whatever reason, I have very good vibes about the GB game at home on Sunday. I think the team will show very well. The Packers better bring their big boy pads.

May i suggest something like creating a matrix of what players are good at, play them to their strengths, and be strategic around simplified philosophies which initially allow for easy execution. Once the team becomes more solidified introduce intricacies and aspects that can be implemented and the team can truly assess itself and become a cohesive unit with some scheme diversity. ...you know what, I bet they (JS/MM et all) already do that...think i posted something a long time ago about having faith....George Michael etc etc.. As a former coach I see a ton of in-game changes that were not occurring under the PC regime. Love what I am seeing as far as in-game (and in season) changes. What if we beat the Packers?? How you feel about us then?? There's been enough negativity...what about the what if??? I asked a long time ago...If the Seahawks played to their full potential would they have enough to win the SB>> Never heard back.... I thought it was s relevant question...maybe at the time it wasn't; but now??? I also said double digit wins, Julian love, I may be the only one typing in the dark dafter a few drinks but am proud to get this, message out on tits legible format. i give my self two thumbs up. Go Siskel and Ebert....and the Muppet's too. There's a lot to like zbout this crew.

One of the best things you have done is to get All 22 to cover the Seahawks. His stuff is fantastic. Thanks again for the excellent work you do here everyday Kenneth. Happy Holidays

That Murphy video also shows how good JReed is and why we needed LBs behind him. People just see stats rather than plays. JReed busted up the line. Ultimately had three men blocking him. Murphy didn’t get the inside move but kept head up. Moved sideways. But at same time, see who was there behind the hole JReed made? Knight who ended up with the stat. JReed and Williams did this all last year. Issue was it was only them. Now Hawks have “deepest DLine” keeps guys fresh to make plays all game (and run 18 mph at 300 lbs for a TD!!!)

Here is hoping everyone -Offense and defense keeps improving as we roll to the end of the season- If the O-line keeps playing and learning together as well as they have these last two games ( Go Sataoa) the future there could actually be looking up! They probably will truly only need one new starter at LG- It would be nice if Haynes could pull it together.

Haynes and Olu need to spend their offseason with the strength and conditioning staff and see what they can figure out. Charles Cross looks so much more athletic than he did in his rookie season. Let's hope these guys can get the same results from some hard offseason work.

I immediately turned off O-Line Committee after dude said "Kenneth Walker is the hammer and Charbonnet is just a shiftier back out in space".... let me know when they do another O-Line video that is Seahawks focused. They said "while we have some time let's give some love to the Seahawks." It was obvious they didn't prep for the highlights and just spoke off the top of their non-Seahawks watching heads.

They got a couple things mixed up, but I don't think they're idiots. Alex Boone is a former Seahawk and has always said he has a special place in his heart for them.

The O-Line Committee are almost always entertaining, but their formula is to have the non-football guy put together some clips and then have the football guys comment on them as if watching for the first time. They clearly don't know all team rosters that well, but they make me laugh.

They missed the utterly savage block laid by Cross to open the screen pass to Charbonnet. It makes the play.

Yes, and let’s give Grubb the same type of opportunity MM has had to “fix” things by choosing his guys. It’s nice to see the turnaround in the run game and the OL *may* be improved if they can keep building on their performance last week. But there are changes to be made at WR, TE, and (probably) QB. Let’s see how Grubb can tweak things in the offseason. As for Harbaugh the Jets game was a “blip” in what has been an otherwise steady improvement on STs as the season has gone on.

This week’s game vs the Packers is going to say a lot about the competitive level of the team on both sides of the ball.

It will be getting around that Seattle has Coaches that can inspire good veteran players to find Greatness in themselves, as we saw with Clowney and now with Big Cat Leo, E. Jones, JLove, Bryant, Spoon, ...on and on. My hope is we soon see the Grubb/Huff UDub duo credited with Sat and Charb's development. The entire OLine is just now starting their deeper Playbook. Geno is now miles ahead with his Progression Reads. I expect we shall begin to see immediate schemes deployed for when Geno scrambles. Talent will be Jonesing to get here and get in on it. Again, I am smelling Super Bowls (plural) coming our way.

Geno did a really good job on a number of those 4x1 sets, with Metcalf alone on one side of the field. Geno would look DK's way, moving the LB, and then come back to one of his options on the other side of the field. I forget who's content I was watching that showed several examples of it.....might have been All-22.

Grubb did a few different things on Sunday, so he's given GB a few more things to think about, which is good.

"Fixing Dickson and getting Jason Myers straight were far higher priorities going into the season than making sure two players essentially picked off the street didn’t fumble the ball."

If you could PLEASE DM that message to most Seahawks fan forums...

I actually struggled with this comment. Agree Dickson and Myers were big concern, but feels even more painful when we have a fumbled punt or kick-off which sends your offense on the bench and makes your defense come right back out again and do double duty, plus gives the opposition a short field.

There's that EPA measure isn't there? Maybe it could quantify the expected outcomes and relative impacts of fumbling a punt or kickoff, vs punting into the end zone or missing a 45 yd field goal or some extra points?

That's another reason this newsletter is so refreshingly different. It is smartly written and smartly commented upon, mostly. 😆

I’d love to see the 11-5 Seahawks play the 10-6 Rams for the NFCWest title on SNF. But I’d like it more if I knew 11-6 would get the Hawks into the playoffs. McKay still makes me nervous.
