Bears sign Coby Bryant. Not going to do a separate post for this one just yet.

3 years, $40 million for Coby. No way. I would never do that.

3 year $40 million for Coby. More than Love gets paid.

3 years and $81M for Linderbaum. Holy macaroni.

Jobe signs with the Seahawks. Good news!

Unfortunate. That's life for SB winning team. You have good players and everyone else wants them and will pay a premium for them.

Really disappointed. I thought K9 was special enough to keep around. The franchise tag would have done it.

I also imagined that he really liked this organization and would have worked out financial differences to stay here. Of course, I am the idiot that has been heard to ask, "How many millions does one athlete need to have a satisfactory life?" Naive, huh?

As a very ardent Andy Reid fan since his time with the Eagles, I am pleased that he added K9 to Patrick Mahomes arsenal.

It will always, however, be GO HAWKS

K9 will do as well as the Chiefs OL will allow and not much better. Sure there will be exceptions where his raw talent will springboard him into an explosive play.

But love the Rams spending $51 mil per year to their two corners. Both former Chiefs.

Nailor to Coach K and Raiders.

Rusty's avatar

That decreases the market for Shaheed, who hasn’t reached agreement on a contract with anyone yet. Maybe he comes back to the Hawks at a reasonable level.

Coach K is probably following Seaside Joe 'n jumped at it.

K9 had a great season. One, it was shared with Charb and required the right people blocking so he could get a good path to run through. When he runs to the left or right he gets tackled for a loss on so many plays that I would have been surprised if he could replicate this last season again. Then, I admit to not knowing how to recognize the skill level of players who aren't consistent.

The beginning of the exodus of our 4 2022-23 2nd round picks. Maybe Charb and Hall get extensions - we’ll see.

All the best, Ken. I figured it was unlikely we'd be able to keep him. I think his best game ever happened on Super Bowl Sunday, and so I can always replay the game to get my dose of K9 in a Seahawk uni. Great guy, great teammate. I bet Chiefs fans are pretty pumped.

The money is going out the door quickly this afternoon, but it wouldn't be surprising, or uncharacteristic, for the Seahawks to just be patient. We may do nothing at all on day 1.

Except maybe come to terms with one or more of our own FA's.

On a different note : Cowboys Star Hints at Betrayal After Jerry Jones Parts Ways With Offensive Lineman. Brock Hoffman’s post highlights the betrayal he felt following the team’s decision. Brock Hoffman had been a dependable piece of the Cowboys’ offensive line for the past three seasons. During his time in Dallas, he played 54 games and started 16 times for the Cowboys. Hoffman had been a dependable piece of the Cowboys’ offensive line for the past three seasons. During his time in Dallas, he played 54 games and started 16 times for the Cowboys.

Hoffman proved his value for the Cowboys by filling in at center, left guard, and right guard whenever needed. In the 2025 season, he played 17 games, starting seven. Six of those starts were at center/guard, filling in for an injured Cooper Beebe, and one at left guard. He played 474 offensive snaps, { allowed 1 sack, and committed a single penalty. }

The Cowboys chose not to tender Hoffman mainly because of salary cap issues, not because of his ability. The team started the offseason around $60 million over the NFL salary cap, forcing them to make financial adjustments. ... umm, Jerry Jones is not the most astute owner.

Rusty's avatar

Not only is Jerry Jones not an astute owner, he’s a horrible GM and should fire himself. But he won’t.

"For the 2025 season, Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Brock Hoffman signed a one-year exclusive rights tender worth approximately $1.1 million. He was a key depth piece for the team, having previously signed a two-year contract for $1.855 million in 2023."

Seems more than reasonable.

Ray's avatar

I've got no opinion about the contract, but I was hoping K9 would stay a Seahawk. I think this clearly means we'll be drafting a RB, as any good veteran would cost enough that K9 would have been worth the difference in cost.

Defjames's avatar

Don’t like losing him one bit. But I can respect the Seahawks not giving him that kind of deal.

I wish him well in KC. I guess we will see if their challenges running the ball have more to do with the OL or RB position.

We will see him in Seattle next season with the Chiefs (if he stays healthy...)

Bob Johnston's avatar

I don't think you can pay that type of money to a guy who's shown to be injury prone when used as more than a platoon back. And the best news is now I won't feel like I need to draft him in fantasy football over my Seahawk's love. He killed me last season.

Grant's avatar

His fantasy stock just skyrocketed!

Bob Johnston's avatar

His stock did indeed skyrocket but you just can't pay this much for him.

Bob Johnston's avatar

Not in my view. The Chiefs will have to use him as a bellcow and he just doesn't last in that role.

Grant's avatar

Perhaps, but regardless of where you or I would draft him, I bet his ADP is the highest of his career this season.
