Dale has a pretty good line on it. We understand you have to do something to fill media space this time of year with the season still months away. I've always like the more local evaluations of what Seattle does in the draft, after the fact. The first five picks might be easier to figure but after that it's crap shoot. This years draft has more quality and less impact players according to JS. I have heard that from a few analysts that have a players insight of position groups. This might be a good year to trade down, accumulate picks which Ken spoke of in his latest article about rounds 5-7 for Seattle. I think Seattle trades down at 9 and 41 and probably and extra picks in the 3rd that they accumulate. It will be interesting to see how Seattle's new(er) coaching staff effects this years selections.

I'm so with you on these mock drafts. I mostly skip them because they're never accurate and offer very few insights. The draft itself is a craps shoot. Efforts to guess as to how that craps shoot will play out is whatever the exponent of a craps shoot is. The uncertainty is so far off the charts as to essentially guarantee one thing. That most everyone will be wrong regarding most of their picks.

The 49ers would be smart to hold Jimmy if they can afford to. But given the cap hit, and the fact that none of the money is guaranteed, they may need to part company -- in which case, it makes sense to get as much as one can for him. I'm not at all sold on Lance being ready for prime time. Given how much overall talent they have and how fast that can change, they may really wish they had JG around as the season unfolds. Lance could be unready. He could get injured. He could just plain suck. We really know nothing about Lance yet other than the fact that he's an elusive and fast runner.

First off, thanks for writing this column. Really enjoying it.

I like Peter King, but he is a bit arrogant when it comes to certain things. That’s funny how wrong he was on the draft last year.

Your commentary is spot on as to my feelings and expectations for the Draft. Not really knowing is what creates all the excitement that I love about it. The Hawks in particular, drive me a little crazy and yet still is fun to watch what happens.

Things I believe about the Seahawks:

1. They like Gardner, Mafe, Rasheed Walker, Taylor-Britt, Strange, and Watson.

2. They don't want to use the ninth pick.

3. They want to trade down every chance they get because they are volume believers. FYI, Bill Belichick has executed the most draft day trades.

4. They MUST take an OT within the top 100.

5. They will draft a pass rusher within the top 100.

6. The reason we can't predict their picks is because they don't know their picks. That said, they have a history of drafting need positions.
