I have a six year old son and I would get in soooo much trouble if I tried to play catch with him that way. There probably won't be any NFL free safeties coming out of my household.

When I read about those games of catch, and how Quandre was told to get his hands up and catch the ball so it doesn’t hit him in the face, the words that ran thru my head were “if you can’t dodge a wrench, you can’t dodge a ball.”

I love these articles.

You might need some adhesive though, Ken, to keep those words in__tact. :D

It is extremely difficult to proof one’s own work unless it’s put aside for hours after writing. As a career word processor/executive assistant we always relied on someone else to proofread. The writer is certain they would have caught a typo at the time it was made. Based on my own experience I am impressed by how Ken consistently has so few typos when he has no editor to proof the thousands of words he types in a day.

Oh I completely agree. Ken is a great writer--it is a bit cheeky of me to point it out but I believe Ken expects that of me lol.

Expects and likes are different. Spelling is a major hot button with me so I struggle constantly to stay silent on social media with all the spelling and grammar mistakes. Ken makes typos. His command of spelling and grammar rival most.

Joe I don’t comment on many of these but these origin stories are truly awesome. Can’t imagine the work/research entailed and yet you have done so many already. Really interesting to me, and to see the common traits among so many of these guys. Not that different actually from those in my line of work (business). Yeah you gotta be smart but there are a lot of smart people. Guts, tenacity, a dream, out working the other guy, passion, family, courage, and a fierce competitive streak. Fantastic and inspiring to read these, makes me love our Seahawks even more (although I imagine players on all teams have similar stories). Thanks so much for doing this Joe.

Couldn't agree more!! I feel like I've been really missing out on who these young men are and how they made it to the NFL. And I thought I was a pretty big fan lol.

THANK YOU KEN!!

APPRECIATE YOU☺️

What a lucky kid to grow up in such an athletically talented family, and love the photo of him on the draft stage at age 9 😎. These origin stories are awesome, can’t wait for part 2!
