At this point in their respective careers, I trust Penny to stay healthy more than I do Carson. Good signing, happy with the contract, would have liked one more option year.

Left me wondering what Penny's salary would have been had we exercised his 5th year option.

Thanks for that Roger! So we would have been a bit better off had we exercised it. But who could of guessed? I don't think there were many proponents of picking it up.

Glad it's done. Stay healthy my son. We still need a 3rd dynamic back to be the best running team in football. It's not hard to miss 4 games which would only leave one stud. I suggest draft for sure, but also sign Mac or someone like him. Look at what Mixon did for the Bengals because I think he played ever game.

I might have wanted to give him a lower base and more upside money if he stays healthy. But that is just my opinion. I don't believe he can stay healthy. And like zezinhom400 below, I like the 1 year deal. Also, please bring AP back, if possible, as a RB coach.

Luckily at any price, the Seahawks pretty much would look exactly the same, his signing shouldn't prevent anyone else from being on the team. I would have actually preferred a second year in case he does rush for 1,500.

That is a very good point.

It's the right move. He said Adrian Peterson taught him a bunch. Peterson arrived and Penny started running to his potential. Bring Peterson back as an entry level coach. Keep things running along.

You said one comment but there’s something else I like — the one year deal. If he gets hurt again or those end of season numbers were fools gold, they’re off the hook. And if he plays himself into a big contract they have the cap space next year for that. AS LONG AS THEY DONT SHOOT THEIR WAD ON A BAKER MAYFIELD OR WHATEVER AT QB

Great signing and great he turned down more money elsewhere bc means the team doesn’t think it’s a tank year
