Here we go. Got my buttered popcorn and chardonnay (yes, they do pair well) AND...got my 49er voodoo dolls and pins all ready...BWAH HA HA HA... pokey pokey...
Went back to the PCHS site to verify I had the lyrics right, only to find they are now using the cliched music borrowed from "On Wisconsin", rather than the melody I remember from lo those many years ago, and couldn't find or hear lyrics at all
I think optimism is justified. We're the best team in the playoffs and they're the worst roster remaining. Purdy turns the ball over more than Darnold. We're healthier, coming off of rest, playing at home, and just beat them soundly 2 weeks ago -and they've since lost one of their best players. Vegas favors us by over a touchdown (-7.5) for a reason. I'll grant that football is a random game and that odd-shaped ball does funny things sometimes. So I wouldn't exactly go into 49ers chats and start talking smack like their fans do in ours. But I'd think if these teams played 10 times, the Seahawks would win 8-9 of those games. I am cautiously confident and would not be surprised to see a Seahawks blowout. Our worst scenario outside of injury is playing a close game like Pete was known for. We need to knock the door down out of the gate.
I love the hype over EMF creating increased likelihood of injuries, or anything else that harms the 49ers. However, the more likely reason for increased injuries is the 17th game added to the season. Football is hard and people need time to heal whether between games or seasons. It's why players hate Thursday night games.
As to the actual game, I'm absolutely convinced the Seahawks are the better team and will remain nervous until the game is over. I'm just a worrier, I guess, and I've seen my "best team in league" fail too many times to be complacent. (2001 Mariners and 1st seed Sonics vs. 8th seed Nuggets come instantly to mind.
I think if Sam can’t go, we could be in trouble, but if he plays just like last game, we win. Of course we need to get 200 yards rushing which I see as very likely. But we are better in all 3 phases, so it’s gonna take at least 3 turnovers to sink this boat. Go Hawks💪🏻
Corbin Smith made a great point today. The oblique injury isn’t likely to affect long throws from a clean pocket, where the QB puts smooth air under the ball. It’s more likely to affect tight window throws when rolling out, since there can be twisting and high torque. Stepping straight forward and throwing a moon ball is more linear than twisting.
So, we might limit boots, but with good protection, a single high, and a go route, Sam can hurt them if they load the box against the run.
Long before SF built their stadium and or practice field near an electrical power station, I knew a guy who had a Xmas tree farm on land no one would live on because it was under high power lines. So the government was aware that bad things might happen if you lived under high power electical wires way back in the 70's.
The power station undoubtedly reduced the value of the land nearby, and the Niners thought that was good business, I guess, but only short term. If the stadium itself is close to the power station they will need to tear the stadium down, worst case scenario. Moving the practice field would not be some catastrophic financial pain at all, and if I was them I would do that immediately.
Sam Darnold and his oblique injury, whoever plays Left Tackle, Bryan Murphy, Keneth Walker, and (I know this sounds stupid, but) some other pass catcher besides JSN.
I don't know or care very much about the 49er roster, but Brock Purdy and Chris McCaffrey don't worry me very much.
Let's be real here. The EMF effect on 49er's injury situation is just a brilliant distraction from the ACTUAL reason they are plagued with slow healing injuries. Keep this under wraps, but it's really all about my 49er voodoo dolls...a bobble head will due in a pinch (sorry Kittle, you were just to big of a threat dude). In goes a pin, out goes a player. Notice that nagging joint soreness yet McCaffrey? Pokey, pokey...
Thanks, Chuck. My bad - I was being lazy about typing the bigger words. The studies I was talking about were the Electromagnetic waves from power lines, electric blankets, etc. The studies have created plenty of unnecessary fears.
No adult thinks electricity in and of itself is "safe," I just couldn't help myself from being pedantic to make the point that I hope NFL players believe EMF *might be* dangerous and have their doubts about signing with that snakebitten franchise.
I am an eternal optimist. I have been since 1976. I truly believe in this organization, every player the , coaches, assistants, trainers, doctors, and front office personnel. What an amazing year of football we have had the delight to watch. If we have to shuffle the line up big deal, every one of the players will lift that individual up and make sure they help him be the best he can be. We will win this game and then prepare for the next one. Simple one play at a time one game at a time no looking forward no looking backward. Be the best you can be Seahawks.
Even if the EMF story is just a story and not medically accurate, there are enough players that won't take the chance and it could affect free agency. Either way its good for the Hawks.
On a side note, did anyone else watch GMFB this morning and see Kyle Brandt do Seattle 90s grunge to explain the current Seahawks team? It was amazing.
I have a quick question I was hoping you all could help me with. I have been looking for an Emmanwori jersey. I've found Josh Jones, a O'Tool jersey that embarrassingly enough I had to google because I had never heard of him. But no number 3. I mean they have 3 different Shaheed jerseys and he just got here. I do have several Russ jerseys if I could just get the name plate. :-) No big deal just curious if anyone knew the reason.
Go farther HAWKS.
Can't remember who said farther first but I like it.
I think I’ve heard of a service that will re embroider jerseys but I can’t remember any of the specifics. These guys might do it for you. https://www.stt-sports.com
So Sam D has a sore oblique on his left side, hum is that a big injure? I think it could affect his throwing, but I do believe the Seahawks have a medical staff that can make it go away for 6 hours on Saturday. Also Seahawks listing SD as questionable much different then the Santa Clara 9ers listing Ricky Pearsall questionable when he didn't play last week.
I agree with SSJ that Lock could take over with an early pass and then run pounding of the Santa Clara 9ers on the ground and the next series a deep pass to Shaheed for a TD and than before the end of the first half a play action TD to JSN. Lots of fun tape for the Rams or Bears to watch after playing in the cold on Sunday. The Chicago temperature is expected to be 20 degrees at kickoff with a real-feel of -1 degree.

Grow up 70 miles south of Cleveland. When they built their newest stadium totally open air right next to Lake Erie. Stupid does what studied wants to do…
Remember how stupid ugly the Vikings game was a few years ago? The NFL should MAKE all of these teams have a dome. Can you imagine kicking, catching, or even throwing a totally frozen football?
Probably mostly pain management. If he doesn't let it affect his functionality, I wouldn't see it as an issue. But I'm sure the Niners will try to hit him hard and early, even if it draws a flag.
As I fret about this game, I have to remind myself of the fourth quarter of the Rams game. I hope that is who this team really is and that is what carries them forward for the next three games.
Here we go. Got my buttered popcorn and chardonnay (yes, they do pair well) AND...got my 49er voodoo dolls and pins all ready...BWAH HA HA HA... pokey pokey...
GO HAWKS!!
Found myself singing the high school fight song on my walk this morning
Oh when the ___ ___ fall in line
We're gonna win this game another time
For the ___ we will yell and yell
For the team that we all love so well so well
We're gonna fight fight fight for every score
We're gonna win this game and win some more
We're gonna leave the others way behind, every time
Cheer, gang, cheer !
C'mon, everybody sing with me

Both teams have their starting left tackles back from injury.
Charles Cross is 25.
Trent Williams is 37.
Walter Jones retired at 36.
Just sayin’.

The lawyers are going to make hay.
My five most important Seahawks...
Sam Darnold and his oblique injury, whoever plays Left Tackle, Bryan Murphy, Keneth Walker, and (I know this sounds stupid, but) some other pass catcher besides JSN.

Brilliant! 🤣
The topic of electricity being dangerous has been around for many years and nothing conclusive has ever come of it.
Electricity is extremely dangerous! Electromagnetic waves, not so much. But I’m all for NFL players not looking too deeply into the matter.
Thanks, Chuck. My bad - I was being lazy about typing the bigger words. The studies I was talking about were the Electromagnetic waves from power lines, electric blankets, etc. The studies have created plenty of unnecessary fears.
I knew what you meant! Should have added a ;-)

No it does not affect my confidence.

Thank you.
I was just curious the reason why. Especially with some of the relatively obscure names that they do have.
You could probably make one via the custom jersey option if you can’t find one.
