It is 8 draft picks, not 7. I forgot to add a 6th round draft pick received for Darrell Taylor.

SJ, any insights into how well the available FA and draft class align with our needs on offense?

I’m holding out hope that we will make an effort to become a more physical team and get serious about addressing O line.

I know JS has his tendencies, but PC had final say on personnel decisions. We still have a relatively small sample size without PC, and I am curious to see if MM is able to influence JS in free agency and the draft. JS chose MM so it’s in his best interest to give him MM the players he needs to play the style of football he wants. And we have seen some examples of this during the season.

I hope something comes out today re: their decision on OC. I'm thinking their #1 option is Fraley, as there is nothing keeping them from locking up Kubiak or Udinski if they were sold on either of them. If Fraley is there guy, he may have options. Stay in Detroit if they promote him. Go to Chicago with Johnson, but he wouldn't be calling plays there. Follow Aaron Glenn to New York (or wherever he ends up). So they'll have to convince him Seattle is where he should be.

I wouldn't be giving him too much time to make up his mind, if I have a plan B option that I'm also excited about. They can't afford to let other teams lock in their choices.

This choice might affect our record next year more than the players we draft.

I read of a possibility. Two hires. Possibly one of these inexperienced guys and another who has play calling skills. Two of the 3 listed never called plays before.

Read the same thing. Hopefully the delay is just getting the rest of the offensive staff lined up behind the coordinator. Figuring out who on the existing staff is a fit, and agreeing to terms with coaches from outside the organization. Hopefully that's all it is, and not that they are not 100% sold on anybody. That would suck. Hopefully they aren't getting too cute with the hire and miss out on their #1.

Great...JS will use those picks for a punter who he wants to convert to a receiver and some gadget player with a high PFF. SSJ lease look into JS's success rates vs his counterparts....I'm curious who his comp is?

I guess Jones could bring us a 3rd rd pick but will that 3rd rd pick bring us another Jones?

Almost certainly not. It could bring us another Chris Haynes, though. My magic 8-ball says "all signs point towards resigning Jones". It's a very specific Seahawks magic 8-ball.

OTC rarely makes errors on these comp pick projections. I think they had one last year because of the wording of one player's specific contract, and they admitted the error. They are a really good resource for all things FA and salary cap.
