Mike Macdonald announced after the Seahawks’ 19-16 loss to the Titans on Sunday that not only would Bud Clark be out for at least several months, but so would offensive lineman Mason Richman. In addition to the losses of Jake Bobo and Robbie Ouzts, the Seahawks went from having little-to-no depth concerns at those positions to potentially needing to unearth three or four key role players heading into Week 1.
Whether those additions are internal or external.
It will be difficult, if not impossible to find players like Ouzts, Bobo, and Clark. And though Richman was not expected to get much playing time this season, it will be when Seattle actually needs him that the absence could hurt.
But football is a violent sport and moments like these are to be expected. You just wish they didn’t get here so soon.
What will Macdonald do about it? Before I ask him, I’m going to ask you!
One month ago, Seaside Joe’s community came together to create our own consensus 53-man Seahawks roster based on over 200 submissions. But many people said, “It’s too soon! We don’t know anything!”
We know a lot more now, don’t we?
So let’s do it again before Seattle’s preseason finale on Friday and final cuts due by Sunday:
Create your Seahawks 53-man roster here!
I’ve added a few “TBD Additions” at positions of need for the subscribers who’ve been asking to have the option to keep a slot open for a free agent signing, a trade, or a waiver claim. Certainly these injuries make it possible.
Submit your own 53-man roster—I swear it only takes a minute—and I’ll send back the results of a consensus roster before the next preseason game.
Don’t miss the results! Become a subscriber! If you become a Regular Joes ($5/month) subscriber you’ll get ALL the daily Seahawks content and if you upgrade to Super Joes ($10/month) you’ll be a member of our weekly Q&A sessions!
Let’s see how your new 53-man rosters compare to the first edition, and what fans are expecting when we get to the final edition by Macdonald in six days.
Share this with a friend (anyone can submit a roster, even if they’re not subscribed) and let’s see how many Seahawks fans we can get involved. Forward the email or send the link to them or share the newsletter.

Right off the bat, I see a roster that only has 7 offensive linemen. Nah!
Dear Elijah,
