I'm a Blue Jays fan, but pulling hard for the Mariners today. I'd love for it to be Seattle vs Toronto for the AL Championship.

I can see this game emulating last week's win. Seahawks up early, and Mayfield claws his way back into the game so the score ends up closer than it should be.

I don't know who I'd have as the 5 more important players, but I think blitz read for Darnold will be key on offense. TB will pressure, and the ball will need to come out, but Sam can't fall into any traps. TE's will be key. Deep crossers take time, so Sam will need to know when he has the time and when he doesn't or those will become problematic.

Just because TB's been good against the run doesn't mean we shouldn't blast the ball in there. Klint will probably try a few variations to see how they play it until he finds something that works, hopefully.

I'm really glad to see you shout out Egbuka, he's been superb so far this year. Happy we got Zabel but boy oh boy would it have been sweet to have JSN + Emeka on the squad.

This match is gonna be a scrappy affair and whichever offense can survive the waves of pressure up front will come out victorious in my opinion. I'm pretty nervous about our tackles containing Yaya Diaby in particular, dude is F A S T.

To change the name from the Redskins is an example of something I find irritating. Change for change's sake. I see him registering his disgust with those empowered to preserve and protect what they inherited. A disconnect from who we are and where we come from.

Actually, it's an example of change for losing a racial epitaph's sake.

Are you missing some punctuation in this comment, as it seems to read both ways?

Of the view that Redskins should have remained, but disgust with those in favour of preservation?

Because the Commanders is so bland and arbitrary, that they might as well have named them the Moons.

We just gotta play clean football. Stay out of our own way. When we limit self inflicted wounds we tend to be competitive...even with good teams. That interior against Vea will be fun, Vea seemed to wear down against Philly, but that dude is a load. I think we beat the Bucs pretty badly....like my old Tampa friend would say when I asked him 'where's your Buccaneers?' He'd say 'under me buckin hat '...lol 😆

For whatever it is worth, we are still the number one team by DOVA. The Bucs are 18.

Yes Baker has had 3 game winning drives. Those three games were also forth quarter come from behind wins.

Baker is not a deep thrower in the air. He did have 2 70+ passes but the ball was in the air for only about 30 yards each time. The rest was the receiver being behind the defense and getting 40 yards. On one of the 70 yard plays the receiver beat 2 DB's. I don't know if Baker/Tampa Bay is any good or the Philly backfield is really bad.

We have played 2 bad qb's. We gave up a 18 yard longest to Murry and a 21 yard longest to Rattler. The 2 good qb's we faced we gave up a 65 yard longest to Rodgers and a 45 yard longest to Purdy. I think we keep Baler in check. Before he played Philly the longest pass Baker had was 30 twice.

Baker has been good enough to beat 3 mediocre teams. I think our defense keeps him in check and the Seahawks get the win. With their running back hurt the pressure will be on Baker and I don't think he is up to the task.

Just a follow up. Baker has 3 come from behind wins. So the 3 wins they have they were behind in the 4th quarter. In the game they lost they were also behind in the 4th quarter. So the trend this year has been to be behind in the 4th quarter in every game. To win can they continue to come from behind in the 4h quarter or will they do something new and have a lead in the 4th quarter they can hold? I think our team is better than the ones they came from behind to beat so I think we should win.

If I were TB coach, I’d line up Vea against Bradford to start. He can be so slow to react. If Vea gets leverage, he wins. I hope K9 gets some good runs early to make play action more effective, and I hope Darnold connects on quick passes to the TEs. Interior pressure can get home really fast. He has been one of the fastest in terms of time to ball release. I hope he’s even quicker tomorrow. Need to avoid those drive killing sacks.

I think it's Arroyo time. We should play in a lot of two TE formations, and the Bucs like to be aggressive on defense. Arroyo seemed more involved last week, and I think that trend will continue. It would make sense for Arroyo to be the hot read on a lot of plays if Darlond can diagnose blitzes and/or man coverage pre-snap. If they motion him around and a LB follows him in coverage, we've got to take advantage of that matchup.

We shouldn't abandon the run, of course, but I'm not counting on either RB to do much more than keep them honest on defense.

Seems we resort to diminished expectations with the Run every year. The 12s aren't patient with 3-and-outs, so home field expects some imposing gets done. The Bucs are no push-over against the run. Who better to start with? Go gitem, Tony! Put some GRRRR into it!

I find cold comfort knowing Baker Mayfield has Nick Emmanwori’s name in his mouth. Might well be they’re planning to test the rookie.

But he’s my first player. Sundell is second because the interior of the Bucs’ dline is said to be powerful. Mayfield is third and has to be contained. Tampa’s LBs are fourth because they’re said to be a weak unit. And any Hawks receiver not named JSN.

Heard a bunch of analysis this week about hiw Bradford will have a hard time vs. Vea... not sure if they're wrong, or if we should expect them to lone Vea up over him and test him.

If Vea demands a double team, we could have problems on offense

Danno's avatar

Yeah, Vea might beat Zabel, but i don’t think it will be as bad as what might happen against Bradford. Some of Bradford’s losses don’t even delay the rusher.

Going to this game, right by the seahawks tunnel. Should be a good game! I suspect our Dline is going to limit Baker to quick passes so we need to have good corner / safety performance and especially good tackling to limit yards. I feel like this is going to be close and won by time of possession or come down to a game winning drive one way or the other.

I’ve watch some all-22 analysis on the Bucs, and it seems they’re quite poor defending against passes in the middle of the field between the numbers. Darnold is killing it using the middle of the field with an adjusted completion rate of 90%. I’m not sure what adjusted completion rate is, but 90% does sound outstanding. The Bucs linebackers have been struggling as pass defenders. I’d really like to see what Barner and Arroyo can do attacking the middle of the field, beating the linebackers. I know I’ve called for a TE breakout game already, but quick passes to the TEs will stifle to TB pass rush. I want to see Horton beat one of the TB outside corners for a big TD catch. How about K9 gets 2 or 3 explosive runs.

On defense, I want to see our D-line attack the whole right side of the TB O-line which is missing both starters. How about another 6 sack game with both Williams and Murphy getting sacks, Chenna, Hall, Mafe AND Emmanwori! We get 2 INTs, I’m thinking E Jones get another, and can Woolen get some redemption with an INT?

Go Hawks! No score prediction, but the Offense scores over 30 and the defense holds TB to 17 or fewer points. The 12s hit 110db regularly and 4 false starts plus a delay of game on TB.
