It looks like the Seahawks have finally returned the favor and intercepted the Patriots.
The NFL has moved Week 15’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles back a day, making it the first time in history that the league has flexed a Monday Night Football affair: The Seahawks and Eagles will now meet on Monday, December 18th at 5:15 PM, and force an expected “easy money” billing of the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots to be buried in the middle of a Sunday.
It’s the first time that the NFL has flexed a Monday Night Football game and apparently Seahawks-Eagles is the matchup worthy of replacing the 2-9 Patriots.
For Seattle to hold up their end of the bargain, they’re really going to need to show up and upset one of their next two opponents, both on the road: The Seahawks face the Dallas Cowboys in a matter of hours and will be throwing their wearback uniforms—wearing their throwback uniforms—and then try to end a four-game losing streak to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.
Obviously, the NFL is ready to say que sera, sera and live with it if the Seahawks are 6-7 when they host the Eagles. Hopefully for the sake of Seattle’s fans, their playoff hopes, and ABC/ESPN’s ratings, they are at least 7-6.
Some games that the NFL chose to leave alone that week include Jets-Dolphins (I guess they’re not as hopeful of Aaron Rodgers’ return as Aaron Rodgers appears to be), Steelers-Colts, Broncos-Lions, Bucs-Packers, and Cowboys-Bills; Dallas already has six primetime games this season, including Thursday night.

I'm "whelmed" at best. On one hand, I think the Eagles are beatable and this is a team that can still turn it around and play a lot better than they have been (since about week 2). On the other, I'm skeptical that we have a squad capable of going very far in the playoffs and there's little to be gained from another wildcard exit. And such a strategy doesn't lend to changing things that seem to need changing and just hurts draft positioning. Hopefully I'll feel differently after tonight's game.
Honestly I don't care when or where they play...I only care that the hawks are again competitive with the leagues better teams. If they can't do that, they'll lose 3 or the next 4 and this season is over.
