Asheville area, North Carolina. I became a Seahawks fan in 1976 when they came in the league and I liked the helmets and colors. I've seen them twice in Seattle (Kingdome) and about 20 times on the road at various stadiums.

Hello! I’m Tomi from Helsinki, Finland.

I have been a Seahawks fan for quite some time. It’s hard to define the exact moment it started, but I at least celebrated the Super Bowl victory, and the Super Bowl loss that followed was difficult to accept.

When I was younger, I played ice hockey, and now I coach my son’s hockey team. From following hockey, it felt like a natural transition to becoming a follower of American football — as we call it here in Finland. Years ago, following the sport in Finland was not easy, but in these modern internet times, it is. For years now I have watched every Seahawks game, although often only the next morning, since the time difference between Seattle and Helsinki is 12 hours.

I have often wondered how it is possible to become so strongly attached to a team even when the distance is so great. I have explained it to myself through Pete Carroll. He was and is somehow an incredible personality. Years ago, I started watching all of Pete’s press conferences, and even though the content often repeated itself, they were amazing to listen to. It feels incredible to say this, but many of Pete Carroll’s ideas have even guided me as a person, as a father, and as a coach.

Even though Seattle is far away, that didn’t stop my family and me from traveling there two seasons ago. We saw Pete Carroll’s final home victory, when JSN caught Drew Lock’s pass in the end zone in the final minute. My son and I suffered from bad jet lag during the game, but the atmosphere was still incredible. Over my lifetime I have seen numerous major sporting events — the English Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, international football tournaments — yet Seahawks vs. Eagles still left a particularly strong impression on me. Now, when I watch a home game on TV, I can easily relate to the atmosphere.

I discovered Seaside Joe through Field Gulls. Kenneth clearly knows what he’s writing about, and his style really resonates with me. I have been a subscriber for a few seasons now, and the money has been an excellent investment. I also read all the discussions that follow the newsletters.

I will watch the game at home in Helsinki. Not live, since kickoff here is at 1:30 a.m. Unfortunately, I still have to work on Monday. Here in Helsinki, a Seahawks Super Bowl victory is not considered a valid reason to take the day off 😊

12:30 kickoff here in the Eifel border country just a few degrees south and west, Tomi.

Life in Europe as a not-quite-ancient Junior Seahawk requires discipline and training, for sure. The regular season is "training camp", weekly seven-hour RedZone sessions with Scott Hanson starting at 1900 sharp. 'Hawks game always in front, early or late window.

Non-Sunday and late games are where the work gets serious and unfortunate injuries can happen chasing those edges. Thank the heavens for the "game replay" feature on Game Pass. Late-nighters certainly don't get any easier as the body ages... =)

By the time "champagne problems" like the playoffs roll around, and if you're lucky SUPER BOWL MONDAY, you've learned to trust the process. Lean hard on the power of strategic napping, stay loose and focused and just enjoy the game... LIVE.

Seattle growing up, moved to LA for a job, lasted 16 months before decamping to Nashville to do my own thing. Met a gal, ended up in a round house in the woods of Eastern Kentucky. Hoping FedEx really did misplace the inventory scanners so I can actually watch the game.

I am from/will be watching from Portland, OR. My parents were both from Seattle, and met in Portland when they came down here for college. I spent summers in Seattle visiting my grandparents. When we realized my grandpa had never been to a Hawks game we took him to a Hawks/Niners game. When we realized how much of a reseller's fee we paid for those Kingdome seats, my friend and I bought season tickets.

Our 4th row / 30-yard line seats in the concrete palace, then rainy Husky Stadium, became 3rd row south endzone seats when we decided not to pay PSLs when then Seahawk Stadium was built. I had section 122 south endzone seats until I had to give them up during the recession. Our last game was the playoff win over the Saints and Beastquake happened 3 rows in front of us. It was electric. It was earth shaking! Best of all every friend I had taken to a game with me turned me down because no one wanted to "see a 7-9 playoff team lose." So my 9 month pregnant wife came along and we tell our 15-year-old that he was at Beastquake. We snuck three into our pair of paid seats. I met Paul Allen that night and thanked him for all he did for the Hawks.

The next season my elitist "I don't do credit cards" self hit massive furloughs at work and gave up my seats. The ticket agent told me, "You'll never get seats like this back again." 15 years, a long time on the waiting list, and 4-season ticket deposits while STILL on the waiting list later, and he's correct. That said, we jump on the train and try to make it up to one game a year.

Sunday we will be with that aforementioned season ticket friend's house to watch.

I'm from all over Oregon and Washington so it's always been Seahawks, but moved to Whitehouse, TX in 2021. Whitehouse is Patrick Mahomes' hometown so at least it's not all Cowboys here. I have a good friend that moved here from Santa Clara and is a big 49ers fan.

We watch the big games together.

The rivalry has a camaraderie to it when we're both this far from home and surrounded by lifetime Cowboys and bandwagon Chiefs fans.

As a kid, I thought that the Super Bowl was a game between the Bills and Cowboys because those were the first 2 football games that I watched.

Watched Super Bowl XL at an IMAX theater in Spokane. Watched Beastquake on a hotel tv in Portland the night before my daughter was born.

Watched the NFCCG this year on a cruise ship out of LA and there were more Seahawks fans than Rams at that particular location. It was a great time!!!

Haven't been to an NFL game in person yet, but eyeing the raiders game next year. I'd also love to watch the Seahawks at Jerry World which is only a few hours away.

I was born in Port Angeles,.WA and moved with a military family to the suburb of Cleveland, OH before moving back at 5 years old.

Therefore, my AFC fandom is as a long suffering Browns fan so thankfully I'm a full on all the time Hawks fan!! After living in Marysville, WA for the first 3 super bowls I now moved a tad south to Everett (but will view the game in Marysville where I'm 1-0)

Go Hawks!!

I grew up in Kirkland (where my folks still live) but I’ve been in Chicago for 17 years now. Went to college out East and made an ass of myself as a freshman during SB XL, only to marry a girl from Colorado (talk about an awkward SB…)

We were at that fateful SB 11 years ago and I remember crying into the metal fence behind our seats in the last row. I’ve waited 11 years ago to rid myself of that memory and I’m hoping Sunday is the day for it.

Great community! Go hawks!!

I’ve been a Seahawks fan since I can remember! My extended family is from Northern Idaho (Moscow) and I was born in Boise and have spent the rest of my life bouncing around: DC metro, Denver metro, Indiana for college, and now Chicago!

Planning to watch the big game with college friends who are from all over. We always get funny looks at our annual trips to the NFL draft when we show up with 12 guys with apparel from 10 teams!

Tacoma.

If Everett rhymed with aroma, Tacoma would be the most sought-after real estate on earth.

Hi, I'm Rocco from Italy. I've started to watch football in 2012 and the first match that I followed was Seahawks-Cowboys at the start of the season. I immediately fell in love with Seattle team and since then I didn't lose a match

Hi Joe following, raised in Port Angeles, lived in Kent in 1976 at which time I became a life long Seahawks fan listening to Pete Gross on the radio. Jack Patera led Jim Zorn and (my favorite) Steve Largent teams. Efren Herrera has a place in my heart as well.

Born in Seattle and grew up in southwest Washington (Kelso). So, I grew up a Seahawks fan and a Huskies fan. I've been living in southern California since 1996. Cheering on the Seahawks loud and proud. I love seeing all the 49rs fans pissed off at all the Seahawks decor in their home stadium. Thanks for what you do Seaside Joe!

Go Hawks!!

I’ve been a fan since 1985 over here on the east coast of the United Kingdom. The uniforms were the hook for me and when I first started watching on one of our four tv channels, we saw the previous weeks games the week after!

Never faltered in my support, through the end of Chuck Knox, the Flores years, Erickson and to Mike Holmgren when we really started tasting success.

The one and done with Mora to the real glory years of Pete and our first superbowl win, along with the deflation of the loss the following year.

Now we have another Mike and have we seen the team grow really fast. With Schneider and all the back room staff, without whom we wouldn’t have a team, I’m proud to say a fan of 41 years and long may it continue. Go Hawks and win it all on Sunday!

Hello to all of my Seahawk (and Seaside Joe) loyalists.

I am originally from New Jersey but moved to Pennsylvania as an impressionable young 12-year old. I started watching football on the local stations and fell for the Penn State Nittany Lions. My favorite player for the National Champions that year, running back Curt Warner, was drafted by Seattle 3rd overall. I had no allegiance to a pro-football team at that time so I followed Curt's journey out to Seattle. And look at those uniforms!!! I watched Curt carry the Hawks to the playoffs that year, beating nemesis Denver. [Sidebar: I was a Yankee fan from my time in Jersey and had a beef with Elway, who used the Yankees to threaten the team that drafted him (Colts?) that he would play baseball if he wasn't traded. He got his wish but the Yankees could have used the pitching. Mr. Elway became known as the devil, not only spurning the Yankees but being a thorn in the side for the Hawks for many years.]

Anyway, that is my story. I currently live in Northern Virginia near DC. I'd like to brag that I've read just about every Seaside Joe newsletter over the last few years, seem like it anyway. I loved the series on KW3 and the awesome content before the unfortunate fall of Grayson McCall. For the price, this newsletter is the best place for Seahawks content anywhere!

I grew up in southern New Jersey, initially as an Eagles fan, but in the late 1970s when all of the major sports leagues decided to expand and/or merge with other leagues, I was fascinated with the expansion team process and started following the Seahawks, especially a little known WR at the time named Steve Largent, who could pretty much catch anything thrown at him. The game that locked me in was the Monday Night game against the Falcons in 1979 with the fake field goal. I've followed the team pretty consistently since then.
