Should Seahawks bring back any of these former players who are free agents?
27 former Seahawks who are set to become free agents: Seaside Joe 1833
In my Seahawks offseason plan, I had the team releasing Dee Eskridge to save $1.5 million but Seattle went a different route and re-did his contract to save about a million less than that. So Eskridge is staying, but I was right about his contract being an issue for the team. Will Tyler Lockett be the next to re-do his deal?
So far, the offseason plan is going pretty well as the Seahawks have cut four of the seven players I expected them to release and now re-did the deal for a fifth. That leaves Lockett and Nick Bellore. It wouldn’t be the first time Bellore snuck under the fence and escaped a parting of ways that everybody expected.
Seattle now sits at roughly $34 million in EFFECTIVE cap space with many decisions to finalize in the next 48ish hours, as any free agents who the Seahawks don’t re-sign will officially be able to negotiate with other teams on Monday. I still think that the Seahawks are more likely than not to enter free agency with most of that $34 million available and that the number could go up with breaking news at any minute.

In the meantime, in case I don’t have any other Seahawks news to write about on Saturday to keep alive the streak of 1,833 consecutive days of posting at least one newsletter about the team…
I decided to compile a list of all the FORMER Seahawks who will be hitting free agency next week. I went through a list of over 650 free agents and did my best to use my memory of covering the team everyday to make the list, so we’ll see if I had 100% accuracy or not. I came up with 27 names.
