I am afraid Pete’s time has passed him by and it’s time for new, younger blood. Hawks need an entire new coaching staff and I would look for a former DC of the Hawks, who is now DC of Cowboys but I forgot his name, as head coach. We need an entire new regime and that may include Schneider.

I attribute the offensive woes in this order.

Offensive Coordinator in a week to week league the Seahawks are not only decidedly unimaginative they are consistently a week behind

Offensive line injuries - with Abe out we don’t win matchups on the right side.

Geno limitations he functions when thins work but doesn’t force the defense to do anything special.

I have no confidence in Waldron, but one thing I would suggest is he head upstairs to the booth. I think it might help his playcalling by seeing the game better. I have to wonder if sitting on the sidelines not only limits his ability to see the game and how they're scheming him as fully as he might upstairs, but it also might also be lower pressure for a guy who seems to be wilting under the task on the sidelines.

Not PC nature and positive attitude to can a coach mid season. Dont see any specific change until offseason when the lights are off. I would like to see what this OLine looks like next year fully healthy (Cross, Brown, Olu, Bradford, Abe) vs the backups and 41 year old players.

Agreed. Problem is we can’t throw at all, so we need something to set up the pass and we give up on the running game way before we’re down by 2 scores. Usually after the first drive if we don’t get 30 yards a run.

Geno and Waldron are gone. Geno had one good half season last year against sub 500 teams. Since then he's a back up QB. With Waldron half time adjustments are non existent leaving the D on the field too long. It's hard to evaluate the D when the time of possession is so one sided.

The team needs an identity like Zorn to Largent = 7, Dangerous Russ, the Legion of Boom, the Beast Quake and Bam, Bam Cam.

If Pete and John really like a QB they should trade their 1st round pick and Metcalf for the pick they need to get that QB. Good WRs without the drops and drama can be had in later rounds as in Largent, Baldwin, Lockett and

many others.

What's so frustrating about this team is that most of the pieces for a SB contender is on the roster. All we need is young mobile QB. a healthy Oline and an innovative OC.

Ken, watching the ineptitude makes me so frustrated that I can’t watch anymore. Futile. No offense leads to defensive breakdowns after giving the other team 40 minutes to score every single week it seems. Watching Redzone you see all these other teams utilize the middle of the field. When we do it, it works for us as well, but for some reason, we don’t use it until desperation time. Running game is always given up on way too early as well. What draft great RBs and not use them? Need to get rid of both Diggs and JA. Bobby can’t cover anymore either. Wasted money. Why not try some more man to man coverage? We have 2 -3 CBs that can do it, but instead we get the no cover zone where every single receiver runs free through the middle. Great idea. Wear the opposing offense down by letting them go 12 plays for the eventual TD! Just abysmal effort from pretty much everyone on this team. Mostly the coaching, but players aren’t helping. Thanks for not being OK with mediocrity. There are some of us out here who care about the direction of this team. It ain’t on an upward trajectory anymore.

The basic approach in today’s NFL is pass to lead, run to protect the lead. If you don’t have a lead…

Waldron should be on the hot seat as the results have been very mediocre lately, but changing OC mid season is unlikely to help and would probably be a disaster.

The Hawks seem to be best when using TEs and RBs for runs or short passes with an occasional deep pass. For some reason they don’t focus on that and emphasize deeper passes instead. These take longer to develop, are lower percentage completions, and crease the likelihood of sacks. I hope that what seems obvious to us lowly fans is recognized by the coaches and we’ll see more of that style. The only positive drives against SF were in the 2nd half using that style, but by then the hole had been dug already. Let’s hope they try it sooner in Dallas.

BTW- How about Dolly’s 1/2 time show?😊

Reply to Joel. Who asked me to verify my sources, So glad you asked

Pete Carrol, Sean Payton, Chris Simms., have mentioned the talent of Drew Lock.

Their are others but those 3 come to mind.

You took the words out of my mouth; re: definition of insanity.

The numbers don’t lie, our offense is bad and the output / results do not line up with the talent that I, and many of you, believe we have on this roster. the OC and head coach are ultimately responsible for the game plan, preparing players, calling plays and making adjustments, which is why i think a change is needed.

I don’t think Jody will fire Pete before selling the team, so Waldron is the likely scapegoat, whether that’s fair or not is a different debate, and life / the NFL isn’t fair, so who cares?!

That said, I’d love to see Dan Quinn to take over as HC, and have been wondering if Pete will pass the baton to him given their relationship. I believe Dan could make better use of the defensive talent we have and bring in a solid staff.

If the team is planning to draft a QB (they should) then it seems logical to bring in an OC who is a good fit for, and may have input on, whoever they draft. I’ve been impressed with Monken in Baltimore and wonder if Lincoln Riley would be a potential OC candidate.

I don’t think Quinn would leave his current DC job for another DC job. I have a ton of respect for PC, but I feel like it might be time for him to step down and the only way I see him doing that is if it’s to someone who he feels is a safe pair of hands. Quinn is well respected and knows the Seattle culture well.

The Seahawks have been a mediocre team since Marshawn left, until this year. Now they are just bad. The in game coaching has never been Pete's strong suit, but he had coordinators that at least knew Xs and Os. Not so much now. You make a good point about the pending sale, but it might be time for Pete to take an advisory role and bring in a new day to day coaching staff. It's too late this year, but this team has too many talented players to continue with the status quo.

Firing Saleh would be fairly asinine unless he was solely responsible for signing Aaron Rodgers, gave Rodgers his physical, negotiated the contract and then was responsible for giving Rodgers everything he asked for. I suspect otherwise.

As bad as the Jets offense is, the Jets defense has been playing without a functional offense since the 5th snap of their season and they're still better than the Seahawks defense this season in points allowed, 21.6 to 22.6. The Jets have already played the Cowboys, Eagles, Chiefs, Dolphins, Billsx2, and Chargers. At this point I'm not sure you can easily make the argument they have more talent on defense than the Seahawks. But of course, the Seahawks defense gets gassed by the 2nd quarter of virtually every game the last three seasons running, or so I'm told.

Besides the inability of Waldron to call a play that is totally predictable by most armchair QB's, it may help if the Hawk's had an O-line AND D-line that didn't finish a game with footprints all over their uniforms.

Biggest mistake possible is to not know by the end of the season what Drew Lock can do. Then decisions on position can be made. Final piece is QB position. After that team will mature and contend.

IMHO this season was lost in the preseason. Pete Carroll is a conservative coach

Who mantra seems to be “ don’t throw interceptions, don’t turn the ball over, don’t make a mistake” These are important, of course, but what happens if you are told over and over not to make a mistake.? Right. Geno Smith is just a guy. Rinse and repeat. But a known quantity.

Drew is a superior talent According to many pundits. He can be erratic he can also score

Points. If we’re going to go down, I would like to go down with all guns blazing.

OCs are often whipping boys and sometimes fall guys. The reality of today’s NFL is that because rules are so skewed to the passing game, an OC is no better than the QB. Re the Hawks, replacing Waldron won’t make any difference if Pete Carroll sincerely believes that Geno Smith is good enough and expects the OC to spin straw into gold.

BTW, the Eagles had to replace both coordinators. They are 9-1 and favorites to return to the Super Bowl. Ten games into last season, they were 9-1 and favorites to get to the Super Bowl.
