Not sports related but was in a motorcycle accident in 2009 and at the time I thought the road rash burning my body was the worst pain I ever experienced. That was until I got to the emergency room and the trauma nurses started cleaning the road rash. Fortunate not to break anything, fortunate to be wearing full face helmet, but a short sleeved shirt and jeans that the road ate up for breakfast. I recommend full leather to everyone who loves to ride.
Back in 2017 had hurt my knee at work and I was off for a couple of weeks. I went out to my sister-in-law‘s house and they had a porch but didn’t have any steps but it was only like 24 inches so I decided to hop up on it, and I slipped, twisted around and slammed my elbow into the corner post that held up the roof and it didn’t hurt and I looked at it and I had a heavy coat on and the coat wasn’t torn or anything so a bit later I went into the bathroom and took off my coat and there was like a 3 inch wide deep hole where my tendon should’ve been it have been severed in half and recoiled up both Sides and five surgeries later. I am still dealing with it going on almost 10 years now.
One I forgot. Like appendix, or maybe the little toe, little to no use elements of our bodies that mattered ages ago, there is a muscle, plantaris muscle, that runs from knee to ankle behind the calf. Mostly worthless little thing. In western MT. Middle of nowhere racetrack. I’m pushing the Late Model up to staging. We’re last to qualify. Other Race car on track so loud. I’m pushing when pop. Even pit crew members heard it. My muscle snapped. Man that hurt. Shock first. Told driver I’m done. I can’t even walk on it. Hopping one leg at a time back the pits, grabbing at parked cars until I could sit down. They call another ambulance. Go to ER. Old time, old old doctor diagnosis. Said a friend had it happen playing soccer. Felt like getting shot by a bullet. I’m at ER. They are racing. No one knew how to get me. Ambulance crew “taxied” me back to track. Love small town/country/farm folk/racers. Always helpful.
Forgot to mention another intensely painful but then amazing sense of relief all within about 30 seconds...happened a bunch of times so explains a couple ugly toenails I have.
Inevitably for me it seemed, would lift a toenail or get one stepped on with metal cleats, which pretty much incapacitates you for soccer. What our trainer did was to take a soldering iron to the nail, burn a hole through it (no they weren't particularly precise with just going through the nail) but then all the blood trapped would come rushing out and the pain COMPLETELY would go away, felt SO good....
A bit barbaric I guess but hey, it was the '70's and we still thought we'd be forever invincible...

I tore my left ACL twice, so 9 ACL tears now?

Wow, what a log of misery! That has to be the most viral comment section that was not related to a game or player trade.
BEGAW!
