Bobby's Back: Seahawks re-sign Wagner after Hollywood vacation
We thought it would happen and then it did: Seaside Joe 1484
The Seattle Seahawks are re-signing Bobby Wagner to a one-year, $7 million contract which Quandre Diggs wants you to know he first reported.
I’m not half the reporter that Diggs is, but a Bobby Wagner reunion has been on our minds at Seaside Joe since the L.A. Rams were said to be releasing him only one year into a five-year deal.
The contract with Wagner gives Seattle a clear upgrade over Cody Barton, even if it is just a one-year stopgap and doesn’t stop the Seahawks from having a linebacker need in the draft. After having also signed Devin Bush, the linebacker position is no less than serviceable and leaves few holes on the roster going into the draft.
Wagner was voted as the top player on the Rams last season and should be an immediate help to Seattle’s run defense, leadership, and defensive playcalling, all significant issues that could have caused the Seahawks to have one of the worst Pete Carroll defenses in the franchise’s history.
This was a move expected for some time and now that it’s official, we can start talking about it as a reality instead of as a possibility. The Seahawks will need to make some roster arrangements in order to fig Wagner under the salary cap.

No. Everything i said up to this point has been about his style and level of play NOW.
Nothing was mentioned about him as a person. Every Hawks fan loves Wagner! It goes without saying.
One-year reported $7mil - will see how that contract breaks down into guarantees vs incentives before rating it as a move. With all the other defensive changes i like bringing in Bobby for his overall leadership and influence, and he did play really well last season (and his final year with us was still good). Whatever outcome, i like the one-year aspect, doesn't prevent our 2024 title push we're building towards.
Also i will allow my nostalgic self to enjoy the moment and just be happy to have Wagner as a Seahawk :)
