Thank you for writing this ... I enjoyed and agreed with it immensily.

I am so confused by many of the Seahawk blogger/twitter/etc. personalities that proclaim, "we can't win this year so lets loose", "I guarantee you we can't beat the Chiefs", "who cares the hawks lost the Broncos lost too and that's more important!" and on and on it goes.

I would also add that one of my favorite Seahawk games I have ever been to was the beastquake game at home in the playoffs against the saints as over 10 point underdogs. I am glad the Seahawks didn't take their ball and go home that year either!

I'll accept whatever happens with good cheer. I'll root for them on every single down to win, but if we lose, I'll accept that and look forward to the next game and on and on until I am looking forward to the draft.

"That game broke my heart. It was also one of the absolute best things to ever happen to me."

My memories of that game are so fond in spite of the crushing loss. The next year would be the best in Seahawks history, when it truly felt like the torch was passing from New England to us as the NFL's next dynasty. I still think it could have turned out that way.

I was mountain biking the Sunday the day of the Hawks/Falcons playoff game. I think we finished up around halftime and the Seahawks were getting killed and my buddies were giving me a lot of shit. But then the 2nd half happened and the Hawks took the lead and I started fiving as good as I'd got. The next two passes and a field goal were an absolute crusher.

This team, for me, is nothing like the 2012 team. Both teams have young talent but that team had the necessary pieces. This one is still at least one draft class short. I can't see Seattle winning anything in the playoffs, were they to make it. If they did manage to eek out a win in the wildcard round, it's hard to imagine them not getting manhandled beyond.

Rather than a fizzle of a playoff run, I'd prefer the higher picks. I get that you feel differently, which is fine. I don't think either of us is "right" or "wrong". You seem to think my point of view is less worthy. You have a right to your opinion. I have a right to disagree.

I won’t give up on this team because they’re the Seahawks. I didn’t give up on them in the Flores or Erickson years, so I’m sure not gonna give up on them now.

My expectations of them this season are not sky high. They rose a bit mid-season but even if they lose out (they won’t) the season is not horrible. We’ve seen rookies shine (Woolen named to the Pro Bowl). We’ve seen what Waldron can do when the QB is not highly resistant to the play calls.

The Hawks have a ton of draft capital this off season and I’m excited about their future.

How can I give up on that?

I'd really like the SeaHawks to win two of three and finish with a winning record! The wild card teams are all doomed to be crushed, so why not hope the SeaHawks give us all at least one more game? I'd rather watch the 'Hawks lose that sit through a crappy game watching the Lions or WFT lose.
