A ultra optimistic view.

Were this game in week 1, we would be pleasantly surprised that we lost on overtime to a 2021 playoff team that added Davante Adams and Chandler Jones. And, by the way, we played better than Week 1.

All for the good. Playoffs are still reachable if Shanahan chokes earlier than usual or if Washington or the Giants have more than a couple bad games. Geno had a good not great game that may have lowered his sticker price (it’s Black Friday weekend, after all) and our draft stock improved. Our rookies learned some hard lessons and Nino got the picks he was literally praying for.

There were some bizarre results this week, including the Ravens losing to the Jags, and TB losing to Cleveland (with Brisset) in OT. It is tempting for me to chalk this game up to a couple of bad plays/referree decisions that had they gone the other way would have resulted in a close win rather than a close loss, BUT...

... that run D has GOT to get fixed. The TB game it seems was not a Mone-less fluke and OC's may have found a way to attack the Seahawks personnel that exposes their inadequacies. We need to strengthen the DL and a high 1st round pick will help immeasurably. And safety... Diggs' two INTs were great BUT lost coverage and poor tackling were also big issues as noted.

I was very dissatisfied with DK's game. He is not meant to be a reliable safety valve--he is meant to be a game-wrecking WR taking the top off of the D. He can't win 50-50 balls at a rate that justifies throwing them at this point. His effort on the end zone near INT was... not what we should expect. So, maybe because his talent says he should be playing at a higher level than he is, I would definitely put DK as a 'stock down'.

It's hard to see what is up with the OL line blocking, but it is a problem. Could our two rookies be close to hitting the 'rookie wall'? The college season is just ending and the pro-grind is something they are just experiencing now. It is possible that Lucas/Cross may have more 'down' days during the last third of the season. Walker looked like he was pressing too hard and I was happy to see him taken out to give Homer and DeeJay some run.
