Kudos KenJoe -

34 days from now will, given your dogged relentlessness, see issue 2,225 just a little late for 2/2/2025 -

on 2/1/25 you dazzled us with 2,159 -

of course, these numbers don’t include all the bonuses, a few podcasts and style-setting eyeglasses.

Thank you for abundant edu-tainment KenJoe -

and please consider moving to Yellowstone, your daily discipline rivals another hot, powerful, spewing “Old Faithful!”

What a fine accomplishment, Kenny! Do you remember the day you met Danny Kelly and this journey began? Seems like time has really flown by from then to now. I remain in awe of the way you bring such fresh articles about football constantly. Takes real commitment to see the sport from so many perspectives. You make your readers find a depth in the sport that other writers miss. Congratulations 🎉🎊

My guess is that they'll release Lockett later in the week on his own. Doesn't feel right to include him in a list of guys who were cut with just a "thanks, Dre'Mont" Tweet.

Congrats on 6 years! It's cool to be a part of something like this. Not only the best daily read about my favorite sports team, but I feel like it's as close as any sports media I consume to being completely objective. And the comment section is undefeated. It never turns into a cesspool of "you don't know ball," and that's a rare space on the internet. One thing this newsletter has done for my football understanding is to stop being so mypoic. As a fan of one team it's hard not to be, but it can really cloud your judgment. Fans online saying K9 is better than Josh Jacobs when he's currently not better than the white Brown kid for the Bengals comes to mind. Most of us see all of our games, and a smattering of everyone else's. The best performances get seared into our memory because we cheered the event and watched with emotion. When Joe Mixon or Bucky Irving rip off a big run, it's seen through a lens devoid of that emotion. Whan Charbs or K9 does it, they can become the best running back since Barry Sanders in our mind.

At the end of the season I saw guys on Twitter/X saying, "Anything less than 2 firsts and a starting caliber player, and no way DK gets traded!" Although those numbers seem to be coming down a little; they still expect Green Bay's first and a player, for example. Though Corbin (who you called out) was responsible for that rumor, and probably set an expectation that I don't see being reached. I have read his columns and listened to Locked On, and he seems very likeable. But he's basically a huge fan covering a sport, and not remotely a journalist. And worse, every off-season, he says shit that I can't believe I just read in the form of "insider rumors". I could forgive his fandom, but I cannot forgive someone people turn to for information bullshitting us. I know I will never get the Josina Anderson treatment here.

I was upset when you left Field Gulls to cover the Rams (and still don't really understand that weird law that you have to cover an in-state pro franchise), but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened for my appreciation for your work. Instead of reading one of your articles 3 days in a row until a new one gets posted on FG, there's a new one daily. I'm appreciative of Substack, too; and I'm an old guy who hates that everything requires a different subscription these days.

I'm relatively new in these parts, but I do have an idea what's involved in SSJ writing a fresh column every bloody day for six years, on top of having a day job, keeping up with all that reality TV, making sure the dog is regularly walked, and remembering to talk to his wife.

The arrival of this column generally marks the end of my work day, and so I look forward to it, learn from it, enjoy it.

Well-done, and thanks.

Congratulations on that streak. As others have posted we come to rely on your insights and our ability to comment. I don’t drink coffee so this is my cup of Joe break. Thank you. As Grant notes, half way to the 12s. I think you mark that 12th anniversary with a “break”.

I assumed at some point that Tyler would be offered a coaching role with the young WR's. This would keep him in Seattle and keep his knowledge/experience with us.
