You have my heartfelt congratulations for becoming sober; it's difficult task. The meditation is even more amazing to me because I've tried and failed. A quiet mind is a myth I've yet to find in reality.

I have NFL thoughts/articles that aren't germane to newsletter I'm reading. I'd prefer not to distract from the current dialogue so what's the best way to share those tangents with the community? Or, is that just not appropriate for this venue?

Congrats Kenneth! I'm January 1996. For some reason January is a popular month...apparently our resolutions where revolutions.

Hi Kenneth -

1st of all, good for you. Admirable, truly.

2nd, a question: Do you know if there is a way to disable GIF autoplay on this platform? I have yet to find out how to do that, and would really appreciate being able to do so. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the note! I don't know anything about that, might reach out to substack support, but I'll keep that in mind for future GIF usage!

Something I've added to my daily rituals is cold thermogenesis. I'll hop in the shower at normal temperature and then turn it to cold for as long as I can stand it. I won't lie, I hate it but I feel great after doing it and the word on the street is that it improves your metabolism.

Something I keep forgetting to talk about is how my relationship to the habits changes at certain points in time. I've found that after one year there's a major change and then after a couple of years, it just becomes part of your daily life, even if it was once a difficult thing I "forced" myself to do. But in many other ways, the relationship changes too. I think if you've been doing thermogenesis for less than a year, you'll find that after a year or so, you don't fear the cold water anymore and that you actually "need" it after a while. I only did cold showers for a short period of time, so I never got anywhere near that point. I still very much fear cold showers!

Hey Kenneth, thanks for.....well.....you. I look forward to what you have to say each day, and have done since the start (or close to it I think). Your knowledge and insight into the Hawks and the workings of football in general is phenomenal. You deserve all the growth and reward from Seaside Joe, plus more moving forward. My day would be less full without you. Thanks for your commitment, hard work and entertainment.

Go Hawks, and go the Seaside Community!

(Hey, have you thought about merch?).

thank you Dale!

I have had thoughts of merch but I would need our community to grow at least threefold before it becomes a serious consideration. I know a lot of people put out crappy merch just to make a quick buck. I would only put out something that I think is worthwhile and genuinely good enough to buy and keep for a long time, so I only want to do it when the community is large enough to support a bigger and better merch endeavor.

I only discovered the Seaside a few weeks into the season, so this is a really fun article for me! Very cool to go and glance through some of these posts. Makes clear how much quality content you give us - and reinforces why everyone should try and find space in their life for some Regular Joe <3

I wonder what Dov Kleinmann said at the time of the trade...

Fortunately for Dov, I needed to use a picture from Twitter and he won the lucky prize. I do not recommend him!

*A realistic state of affairs with the Seahawks IF Russell Wilson had Not been traded last year*

1) Mr. 'Go Hawks' has a season better than he delivered as a Bronco so far - lets say his season exactly matched Geno's 2022 in Numbers, Wins, Durability, and Intangible excitement - at the cost, and obligations to the future, of RW's contract.

2) Kenneth Walker III would Very much likely Not be a Seahawk. Penny has exactly the same injury shortened season but the back-up RB situation relies on Dallas and Homer.

3) Uchenna Nwosu would not likely have gone for the one-year offer he would have got from the Hawks because of their escalating attachment to Russell's contract.

3) Seattle Seahawks would be one of those teams that Must cut salary before the start of the 2023 league year.

These each are less than desirable and yet, they could be tolerable if necessary. What simply could NOT be dealt with is Another off-season of daily rehashing old and concocting new Russell Wilson trade rumors.

That just Had to end and thankfully it did so at the exceptional benefit to our Seahawks!

Definitely an interesting look. I wrote about this at one point last year, will be interesting to re-vist!

Maybe once we know the extent of the Bronco trade an asset for asset accounting...that will be a Great time to Fully get the idea...that will have to not only include the players from the draft haul, but any free-agents gathered as well from the cap room we gained as well - maybe possible comp pick for Lock, if he signs elsewhere.
