From The Athletic. “We are honored to be entrusted as the next stewards of the Seattle Seahawks. We look forward to building on the winning legacy Paul Allen created and to earning the trust of the Seahawks organization and fans everywhere,” Vinod Khosla, on behalf of the Khosla family, said in a statement.
According to a memo the NFL sent to chief executives and club presidents and obtained by The Athletic, the Khosla family includes Neeru Khosla, who would serve as the controlling owner; Vinod Khosla, who purchased a minority share of the 49ers last year; and their son Neal Khosla.” And says Neal likely to be very involved.
Having lived through the trama of Ken Behring, the thing that causes me to wake up in a cold sweat screaming in the middle of the night is that the new owner may take our Seahawks away from Seattle! Is there some contract provision or league rule...or ANYTHING that would prevent that?
Tell me there is...even if it's a lie...so I don't need to seek therapy for PTSD (Post Team Stolen Disorder)...and my wife can get some sleep.
The league owners would need to approve such a move. Since franchises became multi-billion-dollar concerns, moving an established team that is having no problems finding fans would probably be frowned upon.
I'm a Seahawks fan, transplanted from Chicago, where I bled navy and orange. I'm also a fairly avid NFL fan, a side-effect of my participation in a couple of fantasy football leagues. With that said, I'm not sure that I can name the majority-owner of more than four or five NFL franchises off the top of my head. I'm thinking that there's a better-than-average chance that, unlike Jerry Jones and Mark Davis, Mr. Koleslaw (sorry, that's how I hear it in my head) and company will probably let JS and MM maintain the status quo, at least as long as they don't totally tank the team.
A lifelong 49ers fan now the brand new owner of our beloved Seahawks. Let that sink in for a minute. As I said before, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or in this case, shell out the bulk of your net worth and buy 'em. I'm with Doug Weller, I too have a pit in my stomach the size of Mt. Rainier. Hopefully this Vinod (and not Stunod) character works out well for Seattle and the Seahawks. We have to trust a lifelong 49ers fan to rid himself of that and make the Seahawks his only love. Seems reasonable. Or not.
Lifelong connection to the Niners, even though financial connection started with a 3.1% stake three years ago. Attended Niner games for 25 years with his son. Son claims to be fascinated with all sports. Seems like son will be the most active owner and JS's report. The group is not as wealthy as I had hoped.
Sun was the king of Unix workstations, back in the day. A ton of industrial design and circuit board design was done on a Sun in the late eighties and early nineties.
I don’t recall him being a big personality or meddler. Sun was engineering driven.
Yes and of course big on building backup systems etc. Uniysis one of the largest software systems before Oracle/SAP created ERP systems moving away from mainframes.
Khosla is a big thinker and a “serial entrepreneur”.
In 2026 he was ranked 10th on Forbes list of top 250 Innovators.
He is “only” worth $14 Billion, so this investment of $9.6 Billion (not all his money of course) will have to pay off near term and long term.
Many richer people can simply play the long term capital appreciation value of an NFL franchise game, as surely he will, but Khosla will need profitable/positive near term cash flow to make an investment of this magnitude work for them and service whatever debt (probably significant debt and likely private equity partners as well).
Lets just pray that he is not in the Jerry Jones “meddling manager” or cheapskate owner mode.
JS and MM have us in prime SB contention mode - lets just hope Khosla and company don’t screw that up
Being a Portland resident and Trailblazer fan since the Pleistocene era, living through the sale of your fav team is an anxious time… 😬 Hopefully new guy(s) won’t eff things up…
Not worried. The Seahawks will stay strong 'n powerful as a team focused 'n united.
Let's Go, Superb Owl.

We’ve had an owner from the Bay Area before . . . didn’t go so well.

No telling how a $9.6 billion investment pays itself off. No doubt we have been spoiled by Paul and Jody.

If they let JS do his thing, all is good. If they think they know better, it will be hard times ahead.

Gives me a pit in my stomach, to be honest.
