Chances are she's about right. But one never knows. Maybe this team will be significantly better than last year.

Before the McCall train pulls out of the station I wanna give you a fun name to watch going forward the next year to 3 possibly. I've mentioned it before but watch the massive change in Taylen Green at Boise state. Last year just got plugged in as a freshman after issues with a 4 year starter regressing and transferring. Kid is 6'6. Cannon arm. Generally the fastest guy on the field. Not many 6'6 qbs score 90 yard rushing tds and run away from the CBs. Huge improvements last season and better game after game. Every box checked except experience. After McCall becomes the Hawks 3rd rd pick next year your gonna need a new fixation. Plus the bonus of no clue where Boise state will land in the conference shake up going on of they have a great year. Enjoy the highlights Ken.

Just watching Coastal Carolina vs UCLA on ESPN Gamecast and I can't believe Coastal kicked a FG down 7-0 but at the 5 yard line... 7-3 for UCLA.

... and UCLA marches down the field and scores 14-3. 4 minutes left in the first half. You gotta give yourself (and Grayson) a chance!

“sometimes you’re just born with a million dollar check in your pocket because you’re in the 99.99 percentile of size”

I used to say that if you wanted to be a pro athlete, it helped to be one of two things: A left-handed pitcher or seven feet tall. Tony Fossas, who pitched briefly, for the Mariners was at one time the only pitcher in major league history with more than 500 appearances and less than 400 IP. As for the advantages of being a seven-footer, there are two words: “Benoit” and “Benjamin”.

Not to discredit Seasider HD, but I don't think he claimed to have coined the phrase, the "Be Ordinary, Be Open" hinself. I think he was recounting it from the broadcast. The moniker was mentioned on the game telecast vs. Green Bay. The announcer (Kay, I think) gave credit to the color commentator for coining it during their pregame prep, and bringing it out while calling the 29yd catch, I believe. Now, I'm not sure if the commentator came up with it or got it from the locker room. I don't remember 100%, but I think it was Stink (Mark Schlereth) who was doing the commentary that night and credited with coming up with it on the broadcast.

All of my love to HD and you, Ken. I just thought that the facts/truth needed to be sorted out on this being so close to the event.

I didn't hear it on the broadcast at all, but a tip o'the hat to you. I saw it on HD's comment and thought it was brilliant! And it is brilliant! But credit where it's due.

I was a little disappointed that you didn't play the Cody vs. Cade mistaken identity card as a reason for the "where I got it wrong" on offense. I am not surprised, though, because where I get it wrong is that I do tend to not care about the line of appropriateness or professional tone when it comes to comedic opportunities, sometimes. I value the comedy too much (maybe my own entertainment, too). So... good decision on your part, but I laughed at imagining you putting it in there anyway, so everybody wins!

Last year the Rams got blown out 31-10 on opening day by the Buffalo Bills. This year it's our turn to unload on them.

It is likely tye Seahawks call up two defenders with Spoon and Adams unavailable.

The injuries to Vi Jones, Sutherland and Joey Blount are very ordinary and would not even require the PUP list. The Seahawks have garunteed each player a healthy paycheck to not play this season. Each one was showed if you stay with us there is a probable spot for you next year. One thing I don't know, are they allowed to work out with the team at some point ?

Those two corresponding "where are you from" articles that basically became "how did you become a Seahawks fan" are two where I kept going back to read every comment because they were so interesting. Really is super cool to see how far-reaching the appeal of your work has become and how many different routes there are to becoming a fan of this team. I really loved discovering how many people became fans almost by accident.

Now raise with me a frosty, lime-and-salt-rimmed glass to Jimmy Buffet who passed today (cuz it's 5 o'clock somewhere...):

Buffet came out just as I set off down Baja, hoping to get over to see some pyramids. Ran out of road (and time) at a little fishing village called Cabo San Lucas. Found a hideaway 5 miles up the coast and spent every vacation there for the next 4 years, along with a very fine mix of self employed laughing pirates looking to relax. Buffet was magic to our ears. A perfect blend of time and place.

San Jose del Cabo? I have been there--away from the tourist hustle of Cabo San Lucas with a very cool vibe. I haven't been in many years but did enjoy several vacays there.

Nah. It was strictly camping. Del Cabo was way east. This was maybe 5 miles east of Cabo. Last I was there, somebody was intent on building a seaside resort (coming soon! sign) and we could see the Good Old Days were over. Google Earth shows condo mania hit it. The local Sheriff would hitch hike out to collect a $1 per week camping fee, but after the first week, he got tired of gouging us all. (6 families) The locals had built palapa's, so it was a local swimming hole. Snorkeling was like a huge saltwater aquarium, maybe 40 feet deep. We always gave Sheriff Francisco a ride back to town. He once recounted how a Grandmother wanted him to grill her grandson, who had too much money and must have stolen it... In their world, the Grandmothers ran everything. Simply lovely people. One guy landed a huge swordfish off his inflatable Zodiac. (He backed it into shore and landed the fish there) Usually, we caught big Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), trading filets in town for fresh vegetables. Propane freezers became must-haves, if only to make ice. I could go down there with $300 and come home with half left. I loved climbing to a peak at dawn with beers and watch the hammerheads race around the shallows outside our little harbor. Turns out they liked to come in at night, which kyboshed further moonlight swimming...

While not a fan of his music, I have a deep appreciation for Jimmy Buffet. He may not have been my personal "beverage of choice," but his music made people happy. I hadn't heard he had passed, and that's a bummer. But talk about a life well-lived. Again, not the way I'd want to live it, but respect to anyone who can sing about flip flops and chilling on the beach with a cool buzz going and touch millions. Godspeed, Jimmy.
