I'm concerned because I also sleep on a Sleep Number bed, and I'm older than Stafford. But I am not an NFL QB who takes hits once a week for 5 months, so I am guessing I'll be fine.
The Rams are playing the long game this year. They traded their 2025 1st round pick to Atlanta for their 2026 1st round, giving them 2 picks in the 1st round in 26. (They also got a 2nd round pick 46 Ferguson) The QB class is very promising next year with a number of options coming out. Again one of the better QB classes, but probably not 2024. Les Snead must feel that hanging on to Stafford insures a chance to make the playoffs. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Jimmy G plays much better in LA than Vegas. LA is betting on Stafford to do enough and with the addition of Adams at WR, gives them a great weapon for whoever is playing QB. I expect to see Adams to have a good year now that he playing in McVay's offense. Don't expect a Raiders or Jets performance. He will thrive in an organized and well schemed offense. The Rams O-Line was ranked between 13th and 15th last year (Seattle 30th) and barring serious injury could be as high as 10 to 5 th in 2025. With the addition of Hunter at RB in the draft they look to have a solid RB room with depth. With 2nd round pick TE Fergusson, high expectations in year two for Davis and a healthy Higbee, the Rams have a solid TE room. I think the Rams may expect Stafford to miss some games, but are counting on Jimmy G to do enough with the rest of a solid offense to keep them in the hunt. Again Les Snead is betting on one more year out of Stafford and a new face in 2026. In the meantime they have built a pretty solid defense again. I don't think it's a question of the Stafford missing some games, but rather Jimmy G being able to keep the ball rolling with some of the other offensive addtions over the last 3 years.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, imply that the Rams may be vulnerable, bad, or suspect in any way. Been there, done that. They are unbeatable, we have no chance, and Stafford is masterful with two bad backs and one leg completely off.
I'm hoping we make good teams look shitty this year, but we've learned the hard way about getting ahead of ourselves by looking at rosters and assuming. If we win, it will because we're awesome. Seems like a distinction without a difference, but the mojo is better this way. Yes, I know, I'm a superstitious nutter, but humor me.
And, I'd rather beat the Rams with Stafford than without him. I don't want any asterisks, caveats, or proviso's. Best on best, and we won (or lost). Don't want to read any 'Yeah, but's......'.
Good to see Stephen calling the Bay Area team correctly. What’s nice to see is while we cannot stand the Rams, so many appear to have very good respect for Stafford. I know I do from his Detroit days. While Puna doesn’t need reps with him, not practicing will lead to timing issues. Interesting what’s going on. Every team in NFC West has issues this off-season. Team that comes together first is likely Division champs.
I think the Buccaneers in week five could be a tough game (as could they all, I suppose), but I wouldn't be too surprised to see 7-0 going into a week eight bye.
The Forty Whiners will likely be at less than top shape when we play them, too. I'll take it. I'd love to get a hot start by winning our first game decisively. With our running game punishing them over and over again, and wearing them down in the fourth quarter.
As to the Rams? Yes, they are vulnerable at QB. We need to put him on his back as often as possible and within the rules of the game, which favors the QB like never before. Nevertheless, it's a violent game that allows us to punish anyone foolish enough to hold onto the ball too long.
More than anything besides a SB, I would love to run the table in the NFCW games. If we did that, everything else would fall into place.
I think that 1st game against the 49ers is our toughest game until we play the Texans. Let’s hope we beat the 49ers and “stack wins” until we get to the Texans. I think we get the Texans at home, so let’s stack a win there as well!
So do I, REALLY wish we could have a few games under our belt before that one. But so be it, I'm remembering that 2012 season when we were starting a rookie 3rd round QB against a division opponent W1 (and on the road), lost 16-20 (in fact we lost all three of our first divisional match-ups) but then when we saw the Cards again later in the season, was a 58-0 pasting (in fact we beat Rams and Niners too in the rematches) on our way to an 11-5 season and the playoffs . So who knows, maybe even a loss in W1 isn't the death. And if we win....oh man!!
No, it wouldn’t be the kiss of death, but I really like stacking wins from the get go. They could be down 2 WRs in week one due to injury and suspension. That along with lots of pressure on Purdy should give us an advantage. He had a tough time when under pressure last year. Trent Williams could be slowing down. He’s up there in age now. Eventually age becomes a cliff, and you just can’t do it anymore.
He’s a good guy, hope he recovers. But how much more of this can he take.
And Seattle is definitely bringing the heat this year. Not just our front seven but Spoon is a blitzing missile and Emmanwori is even faster and 50 lbs bigger
They have their own 1st round pick and the Falcon’s 1st round pick next year. They might accidentally be tanking this year. It’s possible the Falcons are a playoff team this year. If the Rams make the playoffs, they will be stuck with two late 1st round picks. Moving up into the top 5 will cost them more than that.
Man, that look on his face was terrible! I wish they had shown it in full speed at least once though. I'd bet he hit the ground a lot harder than it looks like in slo mo. And agreed, he seems to be a nice dude, husband and dad and does a lot of charity work. The only incident I can ever remember where he took heat was ignoring that photographer lady who fell and was injured in the Super Bowl parade. And I'm really not sure what the people outraged on Twitter expected a player to do to help.

Oh, and FTR's!
" ... who knows what sort of undesirable records Bennett could break against a real defense."
ouch. Tellin' It Like It Is.

Age and DeMarcus Lawrence 😎
And the Big Cat.
Man if he’s week to week after having had 5 mos off, this can’t be good.
Here’s the hit from the playoffs vs the Lions. Wonder how much of this is still lingering
