Just being here he has already helped the back ups ! If he can actually play, heck what is wrong with him being the number one backup, IF he's ready!

That tweet obviously made think, "hmm, I wonder if that just means we havn't given up that many QB pressures, so Curhan looks bad but is still at only a couple surrendered". ummm... no... From the sources I found, Geno has been Hurried more than anyone else (24 vs Mahomes 22, Jones, Wilson Picket 20, Dobbs, Burrow, Prescott 4), so not great for Curhan.

The positive, Geno does then get rid of the ball well to only be sacked 7 times (although, Mahomes 2 and Jones at 7 makes Geno seem far more normal). And with an average Pocket Time of 2.4second is only .1 behind league average.

Anyway, Curhan does seem like the comparatively weak link, but it's not translating to an increase in sacks or seemingly damaging Geno's ability to play. Personally i'd rather leave him in over Peters until his performance really starts to lead to an increase in sacks/penalties and decrease in offensive play. Curhan (and Forsyth) has outplayed what i expected from him, and I don't imagine Peters being that much of a step-up.

If Curhan didn't have 20 like you mentioned Wilson Pickett had, and if they plan on replacing Curhan with Peters, you're saying they might oughtta wait til the last possible second requires it... maybe the midnight hour?

Agreed, KH. Peters was brought in as an emergency plug in case the wheels completely fell off. As they didn’t, it’s eminently valuable to have him sat there soaking up the Waldron playbook.

All in all though. do we really need 4 WRs sat on the practice squad and only one reserve tackle and a back-up centre in Hunt? Seems utterly lopsided to me. I mean, I’d trust Bellore to line up in an emergency and try and look serious about catching a pass, rather than set up on the line of scrimmage to try and block Trey Hendrickson.

Mookie at FG pointed out the other day that the Seahawks only have four active WRs on the roster right now. A couple of those WRs are parked on PS because they're recovering from injuries, otherwise they'd be active. They're so deep into their reserves with OL issues that it seems extreme but its just coincidence.

It surprises me they don’t make sure you have a few more big lads signed to the PS in such a predicament. There and again, has there ever been a NFL game where a team has run out of healthy offensive linemen and had to send another position player out to fill in?

Thanks for the article joe! I feel this subject needed to be addressed. Having peters is a blessing. The team may be keeping him fresh for a late season push when there schedule gets tuff starting with Baltimore 3 games after the bye and I feel there saving him for the stretch of cowboys, eagles and 49’ers twice in that stretch. It makes most sense to me to play peters over Curhan and keep Curhan as depth but like said above I feel there saving Peter’s for there toughest part of schedule considering if they can split with frisco (I don’t see them winning both) and beat one of either Dallas or Eagles or both along with Baltimore and the games there suppose to win before then they would sit at 7-3 after that stretch which I would be ok with. I’m rambling but point was I feel there saving Peter’s for that stretch and through the rest of year. I don’t think they signed him just for depth after the first 2 games of the bye. I think plug him in at RG during that stretch (assuming cross and Lucas are healthy) if not obviously move him to either tackle spot and keep Haines at RG. Either way like said above I feel like he’s being kept fresh for the toughest stretch 2 games after the buy. Any thoughts on that being a possibility outside of the obvious possibility of injured starters continued.?

8-3 if they can take care of eagles and cowgirls obviously which would be huge to come out of that stretch 8-3.

Going off of your article where you touch on Arizona I agree completely tho as we can’t count that as give me obviously since it’s in division and Dobbs is playing out of his mind but that is a game they should win or ar expected to. 7-3 /8-3 I’d be estatic with coming out of that stretch like o said above. If we win both frisco games tho and lose to eagles and Dallas I’d obviously take that over a split for the division. Peters is there for a reason tho and I believe it’s more then just mentoring and depth. He has played for cowboys and the eagles as you know so it just makes sense he is being saved for that 4 week stretch and rest of season.

You read my mind, Joe! I was wondering about Peters and it would be nice to see him on the field if he's still serviceable.

The Bengals defense is giving up yards like...they're the Seahawks defense (ha) but what is their DL like this year? I see they have 12 sacks after 4 games, but the Seahawks only have 16 sacks on the season after that Monday Night Sackball game?!!? Oh my god.

Fingers crossed for Charles Cross' imminent return and yeah, Peters at G or RT may be a necessity.

It is fabulous to have Peters as a "fall back" option at this point. On the one hand Olu at C and Brown at G seems to be a good fix BUT if there is any further injury it would be disaster. Keeping Brown at C with Olu at backup, and inserting Peters at either G (for Lewis) or RT (as an upgrade on Curhan) would be a good plan while waiting for Lucas/Cross to get back to full health.

But man... the experience that Bradford and Olu have been getting (Forsyth and Curhan also) is so important and valuable down the road.

Joey Hunt is a poor man’s Austin Blythe. He must be one hell of a teammate and coach’s dream.

Wasn't Hunt the last OL Tom Cable picked before they axed him? Not exactly your typical Tom Cable mauler.
