I'm not feeling 100% confident about our depleted secondary going up against Aaron Rodgers. Big Cat, Murph, and the rest of the D line have got to live in Rodgers face the entire game and put the pressure on him more than ever. That'll be the key to the game in my humble opinion
The one thing I am certain of is our Big Trench Men on Defense will feast all game, every game. Murph should have an easier time showing off his new moves. If Aaron decides the path to the House goes through Woolen again, I suggest we seat him before he gets moody. Sam must come to grip with the ghosts TJ Watt will unleash if Abe makes a mistake. He did a great job riding herd on Bosa last week. No rest for the weary, Abe. Kubiak will do well to not tax his side too much? Nah. Bring it.
It sure would have been fun to see Spoon get in DK's head and take him out of the game like so many other DBs have. I don't know that Woolen has that in him to mess with DK like that.
If 'Spoon is truly out, does Josh Jobe have it in him to get in DK's head and draw those 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalties DK committed with us? I certainly hope so. I hope Jobe sticks to DK all game like he was Lester Hayes. 😂
"Perhaps most famously, Raiders defensive back Lester Hayes was known to use so much of the substance on his body that Stickum dripped off him. Hayes intercepted 13 passes in 1980 and won the league's Defensive Player of the Year award."
I have zero feel for this game. Even without Spoon, I think we'll be solid on defence. The question is, can the offence stay on the field, and can the defence get off the field. Both need to do better on 1st and 2nd downs. Kubiak will adjust, so we'll see what's up on Sunday. Do what we do man, that's all. Just do what we do.
Although, I'm not sure really what we do. I thought I knew what we do, but then we didn't do what we do, so now I don't know what we do.
I feel for Spoon. I know being available is very high on his priority list after some injury issues in year 1. Hopefully he's back making noise in week 3. He's a difference maker.
Haha. You reminded me of this quote by Donald Rumsfeld:
“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.”
Steeler 24-17. I just believe with the injuries and probably the OG of QBs it’s going to be hard with a new offense. Emmanwori was not put on IR so that’s a positive at least.
Seahawks 38 Steelers 10. Okay, I got it wrong last week, but the Steelers gave up over 30 points to the NY Jets! I know we’re more capable than the Jets and Justin Fields. KK has had a week to go over his mistakes in play calling against the 49ers, and I expect things to roll on offense this week. 200 yards rushing and 250 yards passing. Unfortunately, JSN will have to share this week and get less than 25% of those yards. Kupp gets his TD and the TEs get some love as well.
On defense, Woolen gets an INT covering DK and Rodgers gets sacked at least 4 times and besides the INT, he suffers a strip sack by Nwosu. DK is penalized for 25 yards as his frustrations cause an outburst personal foul.
Feel free to disagree with me. I won’t take it personal if you think the Steelers are going to win big. I will, however, hope you are wrong about that outcome.
I hope Seattle stays committed to the run and that they do more effective play-action, despite the opportunities in the opposing secondary. Long term, that's what will win us games. But hopefully those 3rd down conversions come easier and we see some more tight end action given Pittsburgh's challenges back there.
As All-22 points out, Leonard Williams plays the game at a different level than most. IMO, he was the best player on the field last Sunday.

My hope is that the Hawks run it down TJ Watts' throat all day long.

No but Coby Bryant will....He could get DK ruffled

The Officials like finding fault in anything DK tries, so Woolen on him all day should pay dividends.
"Did Lester Hayes use Stickum?"
"Perhaps most famously, Raiders defensive back Lester Hayes was known to use so much of the substance on his body that Stickum dripped off him. Hayes intercepted 13 passes in 1980 and won the league's Defensive Player of the Year award."
Fred Biletnikoff comes to mind...

Any Game 1 against Frisco is greuling. Sounds like we put it some Hurt on them, to boot.

I feel you guys on this.
I'd forgotten about that little gem of a press conference.

I am looking for :
More TE use
Commit to the run and play action.
Stretch the field.
Defense get some sacks !
Better tackles.

Fortuanately, JSN ... Want's to share passing receptions with his teammates.
Balance In All Things.
As he should. In the long run everyone benefits from a well balanced and oiled machine!
That would be ideal. Looking forward to your "I told you so".
I won’t gloat about getting it right, but I will gloat over righting the ship and as MM says, beginning to stack the wins going forward!

I know it's part of the game...but it's super early to already be thin at a position group. Oof.
