Former Kubiak center could be cap casualty
Should Seahawks sign Garrett Bradbury as a bridge center?
In addition to assessing the value of former Klint Kubiak quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason, which I can’t stress enough is an endorsement of $30 million and not Cousins, the Seahawks may also consider if a former first round pick could be their temporary answer at center.
Selected by the Seahawks this offseason to fix Ryan Grubb’s 28th-ranked rushing offense — and 29th in rushing attempts — Kubiak’s history should play a supporting role in how Seattle builds the 2025 roster on offense. It would be different if the head coach was expected to have a hand in the offense, but Mike Macdonald and John Schneider are depending on Kubiak to take the lead on that dance so it’s logical that a quarterback and a center that he has a past with might play “assistant coach” if they were hired.
Even if they don’t appear to be upgrades on the field.
Of all the interior offensive linemen who were not picked in the first round by the Seahawks, Garrett Bradbury is certainly one of them. He is also one of the Vikings most likely cap casualties, so should Seattle kick the tires if that happens?
